Civil War: modern version

Call me crazy but I don't think a civil war would be a war of attrition. I think it would be fast and severe. I don't see the rank and file military going along with orders from dudes in dresses.
Every war is planned to be fast and severe. What's not being thought of indepth is the support each side will get from China.

They will help both sides and arm both sides no different then what we did in the 1980's with Iraq/Iran war.

I hope our civil war of the 1860's was enough. But with the removal of its history from the southern states, I think the consequence is "repeatable" and that's the plan.

Remind me...what was the point of Showgirls? All I remember is softcore poo-ninnie.

I think the RedLetterMedia Re:View on Showgirls is worth a watch. It was supposed to be this satire about showbusiness and feminism and it turned into… something else.

It might be one of the worst acted lead performances ever committed to celluloid.

There was acting???

The only good thing was finally getting to see Jesse Spano unleashed.

California has 1/3 of all the welfare cases in the entire nation. They get their water from out of state through pipes that are easily turned off. They have a large population of illegals with no allegiance to the United States. California will not do well in any conflict. Besides, California has all but eliminated private gun ownership, and the State knows where the remaining ones are.

Chinese ships will dock at the port of Los Angeles with ships full of food and a “peacekeeping“ military force right behind.

Watched this today and it's nothing like you'd think from the trailers.
One notch above terrible.
That seems to be the current opinion that folks are coming away with. I did hear that the elitist leftist were praising it, which generally means, something that is crap.

Interesting review:

This is the end of the article you post.
Very interesting end to it. I haven't seen it yet but now I'm interested in doing so.

"The crazed early reactions from people proving the film's point right on social media call Civil War "a modern masterpiece". It is actually just a film that people will look back on a century from now (should we be so fortunate that movies aren't outlawed) as a bleak, hammering reminder that history always repeats.

It is equal parts ahead of its time and years too late. It reflects the type of warning movies were trying to make pre-2016 when hope didn't feel foolish. Now, all Garland's film does is remind us that we're descending into a deep, dark pit of no return.

And at the bottom of that pit is everyone having an opinion while missing the point entirely. "

I sorta feel bad for people that walk around believing the narrative that we’re headed toward or in a bleak no hope time. Really sucks to be them and they could use a hobby.

Cinematic = B+
Sound (IMAX)= A+ (but I used paper napkin pieces in my ears)

Casting, acting, script, story (especially tactics), ... basically EVERYTHING = F-

I just got home and already forgot the main characters names. Lamest movie EVER. I laughed when I was supposed to be shocked I guess.

They refused my refund request. I honestly tried.

How did y'all like it?

i also watched it today. my rating is one notch below terrible. 2 hours of my life lost. i only kept watching thinking and hoping there was some revelation coming at the end.
no such luck.
I counted the last 15 minutes as it's only redeeming factor.
But in hindsight it was probably because at that point I was so miserable the conclusion of Kirsten Dunst story line cheered me up

But you knew what was going to happen. They basically told us in advance.

Worst Actor: Florida Man (or what ever TF his name was). And what was that stupid accent he had?

Best Actor: Red Sunglasses Dude. He was supposed to be the bad guy, but the other characters had me routing for him to end the movie by shooting everyone.

Best French Fries: AMC Theater.

Just another modern movie where "Here's the script and millions of dollars, make a movie to match it". Absolutely horrible.

Jesse Plemons.

He's great in EVERTHING.

And somehow he's married to Kirsten Dunst.
