Classic car help?

While you're shopping around take a look at the British sports cars. A Triumph or MG is a fun and different ride and no one expects them to be fast or handle well. You will also get the pleasure of increasing your mechanical skills due to the constant breakdowns but not to worry, it's part of the fun. The British owners meet and travel in packs so help is never far away and ever road trip is adventure at it's best. Be sure to take a hard look at the wire wheel versions. Before you know you will be packing a Walther .32 and pining for a Aston Martin.

Also look at BMW 2002s, model # not year.
Neat little 4 cylinder car that handled great.

I did consider a Lotus Elise. They're in the price range of the barracuda/nova. I wouldn't buy an older BMW without it being under warranty.

You and me both. I looked at the Alfa Romeo version and it's ttttinnnyyyyy. The Corvette and GTR allowed me to get in and out of comfortably.

You could probably pick up a used viper and be more rare than the corvette if your going for rare but current and not break the bank.

It really doesn't get driven much these days, though it does have power steering and disc brakes,

A 3.73 rear gear and 4-speed = run it a little hard to keep up with 65mph+ traffic......so most drives are indeed just down back roads.

Anyhow, I still love the ole cars....takes you back in time and I remember some darn good times!

Thanks for everyone's help and opinions. I'm picking something up tomorrow morning. I'll post back here when I have the keys in hand.

It's almost time

AS far as "Classic Cars" go, that one is nice, but in my opinion overpriced. 67 Barracuda hasn't really hit the Hot Classic status like the Camaro or Charger or Chevelle or Mustang. It's a nice car, but it's a driver, nowhere near correct to being a real collector Classic.
Man, growing up , all these classics now were just used cars, you could get old Barracudas for hundreds, I bought a nice 69 Camaro for a grand. Paid 1200 for a really nice 69 Chevelle SS, 400 for a 69 Riviara GS, 700 for a 71 Charger SE. I bought a 46 Knucklehead back then for 900, wish I had some of these vehicles now.
If you get something like that, It will handle like crap, the brakes will suck, but there is nothing like the sound and feel of a Big-Block torque monster, especially compared to a rice burner with a fart can muffler that they call hot rods nowadays.
I had a 340 Duster with a 4sp that would pull the front tires off the ground.
2 old classics I want before I die, a 65 Riviara and a 69 Toronado.
