We were going to take the boy to Disney this year but when we asked “Would you want to go to Disney” he said “Nah, but I would love to see a game in Death Valley”.

We can get crappy tickets online but I figured I’d check on here and see if anyone has a set of tickets for the game we want.

I’m looking for 5 tickets together for the Clemson-Wake Forest game on November 16th.

Lol. Not at Clemson. That place is as bad as Green Bay for loyal fans and tickets.

Yeah my wife's boss has pretty good season tickets. She asked him one time if he wanted to sell them and he very bluntly said NO next topic. He's not a people person.

I'll ask a guy I work with - graduated from Clemson, die hard fan
Has season tickets but I dont know details on how many or where etc
I'll report back Monday night

It is hard to imagine a child saying “no, thank you,” to Disney World. When I asked what would be his “Disney World” that is when he said a Clemson game. When we turned on the Carolina Panthers game for the first time, I had no idea what a big role sports would play in his life. What was more special is he said he wanted to bring his Pop-Pop and Gi-Gi because Pop-Pop went there when it was Clemson A&M. His Gi-Gi was worried about climbing all those stairs but his Pop-Pop said “if the boy wants us there, I’m going to try like hell to get up those steps, even if I have to take a few at a time.”

What? Instead of going to Disney he decides he wants tickets to a Clemson game? How 'bout a Marshall game? :D

I am sure that is on the list, too, @Qball! He follows Marshall throughout the season. That may be our family trip next year.

You tell him if he wants a great game that will blow him away you go to a WVU home game. The pride of WV is probably the best part of the game. North Carolina just doesn't have a major football program to be proud of anymore.

Give me a holla for the Marshall game... My uncle played for Marshall with Bobby Pruitt and is the original "Herd BMOC".... that cat is crazy.... Let me know ahead of time, and I'll see what I can do.

Now... if you want atmosphere... you can't beat Night Game in Lane Stadium when Enter Sandman starts blaring... GO HOKIES!!!

Sounds like the little man has more sense than the average cub... Disney sucks... Hope it works out for y'all.

Maybe not ideal, but Wake Forest will have tickets available for their fans... Could be an option...

Yes I know some adults they go as well, frequently. And there is another thing they blows my mind. I have friends that take their kids to Disney multiple times a year or at least once a year. How do people afford this? Had we gone we would have gone once and likely never returned because it just isn’t in the budget.

Yes, thanks. I thought about maybe checking with Wake to see if they had travel tickets or something.

Will do! Thank you.

Headed to the Tech/Miami game in October. Won’t be the same as Lane but it’ll still be cool.

Yeah... we do not really have a great schedule this year... much less home games.... but, I will still due my duty and be there to harass the other team! (Non-Obscene of course, and in good fun)20171021_180841.jpg

My psycho ex(yes that one) goes once a year. Not long after she gets home from that trip she starts making payments on next years trip

You mean Chokies right.

It's very sad. There are millions of kids out there whose families can't afford to take them. It shouldn't be that way......ever.

Walt Disney has turned over so many times in his grave he wore a hole and fell through the bottom of his casket.

Good for your son choosing not to go there.

I’m going to guess that we will be able to take him to three to four different sporting events (out of state) for what we would have spent going to Disney.

I’d go fight Antifa in Portland wearing tighty whities before I go to Disney.

This right here, we took our 5 year old and had a blast. If some things hadn't gone right this year I dont think we would be going back, but some things landed our way and it's been 4 years so were going before the two other kids hit an age where we have to pay for them.
I recommend going once, just for the experience, go big, and then never go back.
If it wasnt for my son wanting to go back I wouldnt, this will be the last time we go for at least 5 to 10 years and that is just fine by me.

I find adults who go to Disney without kids very disturbing...

What's weird about adults enjoying the happiest place on Earth? It's an amusement park. Nobody thinks it's weird for adults to go to Kings Dominion.

We're going in October for a total of about $1500 plus everything we'll buy while we're there. But our trip is only for two days; fly down, hit the park for two days and fly back. We place a high priority on family trips together and we cut a bunch of other expenses so we can go places.

The pictures alone will be worth it to me. Getting to watch my son and my nephew react to all the excitement will be a bonus to me. Trips with kids as young as them (2 and 3 years old) are really for the adults more than the kids. I wouldn't be taking my son to Disney if I didn't really want to go myself.

I have hated the Hokies ever since going to a game there. Clemson will be an awesome game to go to, especially with the high the fans are riding right now. I think you would prefer a game at the chicken's stadium, but Clemson is good.

We used to go to Disney every October. My wife's family would load us all up and take us. But then we had kids and my brother and sister in-law are horrible parents. They don't actually watch their kid they just put it off on others. Well we are more helicopter parents at a higher than normal altitude and would end up having to watch both kids. So we haven't been back in 5 years. Kind of suck because a free vacation is nice and they bought the Vacation Club points.

You’re not the first person to find me disturbing. :D

But I go because she wants to go. And it’s not like we don’t have kids. We’re actually leaving our son (12) with my mom and going in Nov. Then next fall, we’re leaving him here again and going to Disneyland and the Star Wars convention. (I’ve been to Disneyland, she hasn’t...and it’ll be our second Star Wars Celebration. She loves it...I just go along for the ride.)

We took one other trip to Disney World without him back when he was younger. I think the count is 18 trips or so at this point? Several were before he was born. My wife has run the marathon there 5 times, so that was the reason for most trips prior to the kid. She even did the Goofy Challenge the first year they offered it...run the half marathon on Sat, and then the full on Sun. (My dad did it as well, and once he was down there he found out they had a 5K on Sat afternoon, so he signed up and ran it as well). You got a Donald medal for the half, a Mickey for he full, and a Goofy if you did both. I think the 5K had a Chicken Little medal that year.

Side note: we’ve always driven, but found round trip tix for $134 (American out of Charlotte, not one of those budget airlines or flying out of Concord), so we’re going to see how that goes in Nov.

We have different ideas of happy... Lol. To each their own I guess. I just find DW boring as hell and of all the amusement parks, it seems like the most kid-centric. I like amusement parks. Disney, not so much. There's nothing wrong with going to Pizza Hut if you like it either, but if you are an adult going for pizza at Chucky Cheese something is off...

Ok. So I guess there are some adult related reasons to be there. But for the most part... I find it odd. At least you are going with a woman. Chicks all still like fairy tales and princess stuff. Cool. However I have known a number of single men who like to go. I find it strange.
