Installing a CMC trigger in a PSA lower and the new pins that came with the trigger are a hair too fat. Thought maybe I could tap them through but wound up with it going in just far enough trap the trigger in the lower but no further. After asking the pin nicely to remove itself I finally extracted it and destroyed it in the process. Anybody else have this issue?

Do you have calipers to measure the pins?

Also do you have the packaging for the trigger?

These answers will tell us if

A) the pins were the correct size or large pins

B) if you got a large pin trigger kit by accident

C) lower is out of spec

Never had trigger pin problems but read about them. Most aftermarket triggers are small pin like 0.154. Some older colts are large pin like 0.169. Just ordered a new Colt of course their website is useless but after mkt trigger mfrs say it should be small pin. I've put mostly Geissele triggers in mostly PSA and Anderson lowers. No problems.

Don't have a set of calipers to measure but packaging says "small pin (.154)". I guess they could have been mispackaged but I don't think the large pins would have even started. I guess the lower could be out of spec but I swapped the pins from another PSA lower and they went in fine. Tried the new pins in the other lower with the same results. Found an unused set of pins after posting this that worked so problem solved.

You can use regular pins if you have extra. Those are just the antiwalk pens.

If those are the standard CMC pins, they are threaded on each end and very thin walled after threading. It is very easy to get a little flare on the end making the very end hard to start.
Not CMC but had that problem on another brand. They sent new pins and worked great.
I did have a CMC trigger shipped with no pins. One call and a few days later a set of pins and sticker showed up. May want to call them and ask what is up.

My statistical analysis is based of a selection of one 😂

On the rattler I had the antiwalk pins wouldn’t work for the bottom pin because the rattler has a beveled edge right there. I put a normal pin in without any issues.

Take it all into a LGS and ask them to measure them. Find out what is going on, before you do anything with it.

CMC will mail you a new set of pins if you call and let them know the ones supplied didn’t fit

I insert them by threading the screws into one side of each pin so if you have to tap on them with something, you can tap the screw head and not mangle the mouth of the threaded portion
