CMP stated in an update email today that they will be selling .22, .30 carbine, and .30 M2 surplus ammunition starting this spring with purchase limits in place. They stated that they have a several year's supply on hand.

Wonder if it is U.S. or foreign made?

22 LR will probably be Aquila
30 Carbine I would guess to be Korean
30 M2 will probably by Greek HXP

Those are my guesses.

They said the .22 is surplus. They sold Remington .22 GI issue previously, maybe more of the same. I bought 5000 rounds and have a few hundred left. It looked like Thunderbolts to me.

I got that email and was pretty excited. Hopefully it is the Greek stuff as I really like it.

I think they already exhausted the available supply of Greek HXP. RTI is/was dumping crates of Korean War era U.S. production ammo out of Ethiopia. My guess is they located a stockpile of U.S. manufactured ammo somewhere.

A fresh option for my garand would be great. I don't have much Greek surplus left and will be having to reload plinking grade along with match grade 30-06.
