Cold day for a rifle match... M1 Garand in Action!

I finally had a free Saturday so I drove up to the Catawba Valley Wildlife Club and shot their JCG match this morning. Quite chilly and plenty of wind from yesterday's weather front.

This one is my .308 M1 built as an "across the course" gun, with all the bells and whistles: heavy barrel, bedded stock, relieved gas cylinder, NM sights, etc. This rifle loves the Speer 125gr TNT bullet at the short line and she really shined today!

Now if I can just replicate this performance at Camp Perry this year!

Do you have to be a member to participate? I haven't shot a match in a few years and want to get back into it. Hopefully I can make it to Perry this year.
