Following some advice from @pirate I made a purchase at Cold Steel a few weeks ago.
I bought this Norse Hawk for $45 + a sheath for $6. All in was $65.23 including tax and shipping.

I stripped the black paint using Jasco premium paint & epoxy remover (multiple coats and scrubbing) then blued the steel using Birchwood Casey Super Blue.
Handle was sanded and stained using Behr Espresso oil-based wood stain. A few coats there and light sanding in between.
Wrapped the handle with some paracord to prevent slips then sharpened it up and couldn't be happier!
