Throw on some thermal layers - pack a buddy heater - stock up on hot hands - Also looking at getting a Zippo or an electric recharchable hand warmer. Wear an outer layer that's easy to shed when it's your turn to shoot.
I do this sport for fun. That's the bottom line.
I am coming up on half a century, and I've been freezing cold enough times to feel like I won't be missing anything.
Like staying out on a Tuesday night drinking till closing time.
Been there, done that, wore it out! No need to revisit.
The young bucks can go ahead and tear it up.

My shop is in the 100’s from May to Sept. Heat doesnt bother me.
The cold, it is to the bone.

I have this but it's a 24v system. It's a little cumbersome but well worth it when it drops below 50*.
Coats, handwarmers, toboggans and earmuffs are all good.
But when the youngers have fun, its never to cold.

class tomorrow in Gastonia thru Macs gun works. It was a Christmas present. The other part is in 2 weeks on her 21st birthday. She applys for the permit before going out and legally buying booze

40* is my cutoff. Every time I shoot in colder weather I regret it.

The hard truth is that in my discipline, I am at least a decade older than the people I'm chasing. And of course they are all out there practicing in the cold. So if they're practicing so must I.
Not sure I would have made it all day without the Buddy Heater.
Bought another pair of gloves at Academy tonight. Arthritis has gotten to the point that I hurt every single time I shoot. But I'm going to keep at it and see if I can push the sun back into the sky for a few more days of summer.
