There were a few shark sitings in the Blue Lagoon this week so I thought that I would bake some gun parts. Preheat oven to 1400 degrees mix gun parts with secret ingredients and bake for 90 minutes.
Redid an old SxS reciever and the hammer and trigger from a S&W military/police revolver. 20230502_150951.jpg20230504_193115.jpg20230502_150901.jpg20230504_193401.jpg

Nice colors! Was this your first time?

What oven do you have that goes to 1400 degrees?!
Piedmont community college gunsmithing program has all the equipment. Full machine shop, blueing tanks, special tools.I graduated in the late '90s and they now have a continuing education program that allows graduates to return and use all the facilities. So I'm back at school to repair/ refurbish my toys. Maybe build a custom rifle over the summer.

No , I graduated the Gunsmithing program at Piedmont college gunsmithing in the 90s. While there I did several but the colors faded somewhat over the last 25 years so back in the oven.
I've got another SxS that I will probably do next week. It's fun to put some color back into those old guns and make them look vibrant again.

We will be moving up that way and I hope to take the course there in a few years.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me. It's a GREAT program. You work at your own pace.
