I ran across a colt cobra. Tossing around the idea of buying it but don’t really know what’s a good price. Anybody have any ideas... What’s a good deal?.....What’s too much to pay? Any advice would be appreciated.
I would say the pistol is in very good overall condition.

Some more details regarding what variation of the cobra it is would be helpful in determining a ball park value. Is this a earlier model or a current production model?

To be honest I really don’t know... I’ve not physically held the gun, just seen pics. Don’t really know what to look for either.

I do know that the pistols frame does not come down even with the pistol grips. The grip actually covers the bottom of the frame. This make me think it would be a newer model....but like I said... I dunno

See if you can post some pictures here if you have some on hand. It sounds like it is a earlier model. What is the asking price?

Blued with wood looking checkered grips....trying to figure out how to get some pics...I’m not at home, I’m actually at my parents using my moms ipad

That is a earlier example. Colt started manufacturing the Cobra in the early 50’s. Colt did not introduce the shrouded ejector until the early 70’s. If I had to guess your example was made sometime between the 50’s and late 60’s. This is because it lacks the shrouded ejector. If condition is good, I would say 450-500 would be a good deal imo. BTW they are great little snub nose revolvers.

That would be a first model made through the early 70's. I have a couple of them and I would guess depending on condition, worth around $500 now.

You guys are spot on! They are wanting $500.00...I guess it will be closer to $550 out the door.
Thanks for the input....Gunna kick it around in my head some more.

The older cobras were aluminum.frame the newer ones steel framed.
I have one of the new ones and I recommend them highly.

Just cant

Oh, o.k.....thanks for the info and advice!
i.domt know if my post was clear if I could.get.either model at a decent price. I'd jump on it everyone needs a Colt wheelgun

Saw this while looking through Cabela’s gun library and for some reason I’m thinking that this is your cup of tea...Not sure about the price....Knowing Cabelas it’s probably high....but they will do some bickering sometimes. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/100915046

Thanks I already own that model.but.i did pick up another this week that had a factory.carved international stock with a monte Carlo cheek rest.

If it’s an old model and in the shape of the pic and it turns out you don’t want it , it will be super easy to sell...
