Folks the first week end in October the CCA is meeting in Charlotte. Their first ever meeting there was in '08, followed in '13 and again this year. it appears to be making a 5 year loop to get back.. This is NOT like the S&W Collectors show where they had 28 tables. This is huge and if you care one whit about Colt history and their products, Don't Miss This!
This is where I saw and handled the guns that were used in The Shootist. You will see guns that were ordered and USED in the West. Leather gear that you won't believe that again was USED by folks. There are engravers and grip makers used by Colt to do their once magnificient guns that you can speak to and engage them for your own projects. Don't miss it and take LOTSA money, it will be a grand time!!!

BOB, I found the times for the CCA public hours, and saw that admission was free for military and LE, but do you know what the admission is for others?

For the members of CFF that are attending, let's set a time and area to meet up.

If I'm driving all the way down there, there's absolutely no way I wanna meet any of "you people". :p

You're not fooling me. I'm sure that the curiosity is killing you.
What's really killing me is buying so many guns and being completely unable to shoot. :(

Yes sir! Admission is for Colt Collectors only...AND their guests at $10 each. I am taking 3 folks with me. If any of you would like to go, I would be happy to sponsor as many as they will let me. I will get there around 10 Saturday morning. This is the highlight for us oldsters who have been since it started coming this close. So far every 5 years.

The wife and I went to the first one in '08. We were in line, going through security, when an older fellow wearing bib overalls dumped a burlap sack full of SAA's out on the security table. I can still hear a chorus of people going "Holy S#%T! He became a popular guy real quick. It is a great show with many one of a kind items that you'll not see anywhere else and they have prices to match. I did see one guy buy a SAA for $14,000.

I would like to go and did not realize it was only for members. I'm only 10 minutes away so let me know when and where and I be glad to meet up with you.

Thanks

Well, wuddid we miss?

Damn, it's hell getting old and forgetting things.

@BatteryOaksBilly , myself, and two other friends got there right at 9AM. Another friend met us and gave us 3 half price passes so it only cost $5 to enter. Talk about a return on investment! It was an awesome show. It was my first time and I was in awe of all of the old Colt displays. A lot of stuff was for sale, a lot of stuff was display only. Many fine examples of Colt single action revolvers in one room. Many, many 1911's and DA revolvers but my focus was on the single actions. I didn't see anyone taking pictures so I didn't want to be that guy. If you get a chance when the next time rolls around, do yourself a favor and attend.
