I sent my 4" Python to Col on 10/12 for a new Transfer Bar, since the original MIM part snapped under the strain. It was returned today, so less than a month to fix and return. All good.
However, FEDEX texted me that I would need government issue picture ID and would have to sign for the package, as expected. I hung around the house, watching a taped Tenn. game, and here comes FEDEX man on my Doorbell camera. My Toyota was in the driveway, so he had to think he might need to do the proper thing and get my signature.
Nope. He waddled back to the truck and bailed out, making a poor attempt at signing my name for him.
Took one call to Colt to get him on the hook. Colt uses FEDEX under sole agreement, and they were not happy.
FEDEX? It only took three tries, and two hang-ups on their part, to talk to a person. Said person was English-as-a-2nd-language, and didn't want to be there. I had to force the issue to get her to file a complaint.
FEDEX is a lot like Gunbroker, they are happy to take your money, but don't ask for any accountability.
The Billy-Bob beer-gut who was the driver is evidently new. I normally get a small black gal who follows the rules. I hope I never see this dude again. Next step, his idiot self will be stealing the gun and signing the owner's name for them. I DINDU NUFFIN.
Lesson learned, stay home when waiting on a firearm for sure, or anything you know is coming signature required.

Knock on wood, I hear these FEDEX horror stories y'all have but my drivers have been fantastic.

I shipped a rifle back to CZ and fedex did the same thing. I've never had a problem with porch pirates so no biggie, but i got a text from the fedex app saying adult signature required. I never even heard the door bell ring but i got a text.saying the package was delivered. Sho nuff, there it was!

I think all the carriers quit doing sig because COVID. I may be wrong but I think that’s the case.

That's how it's been at work. I had a package coming in the other day and got a delivery notification that it was delivered. Receiving clerk says nope, nobody's dropped anything off yet. After about an hour I walk outside and there are no less than 9 packages left sitting on the ledge of a closed dock door (the ~12" of exposed step on the outside of the dock door). UPS package was signed as delivered by "DR" which I can only assume means the "Door" signed for it.

Flashpoint is correct, I was able to get the Python only because I was home. If I had been out of town, do I think the package would still be here? Good luck with that.
The Kung Flu gives a lot of idiots an excuse. My UPS driver just rings the doorbell and leaves his signature gadget on the door sill. I sign it, pick up my goodies and wave, go inside and off he goes. The little gal that is my normal FEDEX delivery person does the same thing. There is no excuse for those who can't think for themselves. You can minimize stupid by firing it as fast as you can. Otherwise, stupid drags your company down.

Disappointed that people get paid a good wage and still cut corners.

Classis Firearms shops my C&R guns and they are left on the front porch.

guess it's driver dependent. I had a heck of a time getting a slide back from Sig because they wanted a "Sig wanted a Sig-nature"

Glad you got your pistol! Bummer to hear that it had problems.

I once came home from work to find my freshly repaired smith on the doorstep courtesy of FedEx. Smith and Wesson was also less than amused. That was about 15 years ago.

Wife had to sign for my phone last week.

FedEx left a CZ shotgun like that for me. Luckily my daughter was home to get it. But I also let fedex know they left a gun in possession of a minor since they faked my signature.

UPS left a heavy $1000 part in the box on my porch, which I happened to be standing on. The ship notification said, “signature required”. I didn’t care honestly, but I asked him, he said, “If we see the homeowner, we just write in “Covid”. It’s policy"

I had to have UPS driver come to my house to get the box to sent to Sig for pistol warranty work. I could not bring it to UPS facility. SIG policy.

Last time we had FedEx f'up a delivery, called to file the complaint and I asked the person if they had been hiring USPS personnel because they were getting as bad as the post office.

I WISH I could get them to leave it on the doorstep! I been playing hide-and-seek with FedEx for four days (and counting) and got squat 😡. No fewer than twelve messages from them about when the delivery would be made, all wrong; so far…squat. I swear, the USPS is better. Didn’t used ta be that way.

CZ shipped my replacement Shadow2 a couple weeks ago. No one was home and I got an alert it had been delivered. FuddEx just left it on the porch.

I’ve seen pics of your pets. I would have pitched it out in the road while I was riding by at 60MPH.
