How long did it take to get one after taking all the papers to the sheriff and giving up the fee and being printed?

45 days in Durham. I paid for my medical records with a credit card to keep that from being an additional delay.

Took me 3 months almost to get mine back in Burke County

took me about 45 days in wake county. I didn't wait for fingerprinting though. just went on a weekday as a walk-in.
Here you have to take your course certificates to the sheriff and be fingerprinted and pay them lotsa money. I figured since they just checked me out for 2 purchase permits things might go fast with the CC permit....guess not! Oh well, maybe by spring...lol.

I wanted to ask the same question but didn't know where to post, thanks.

Anyone recently go through this in Forsyth Co?

What's the statutory limit on foot dragging? It took exactly that. 90 days I think.
Their website says they have 45 days to "process" after receiving your background and mental health info and they won't answer inquires if it hasn't been 90 days from application. Way too long for information pulled off gov databases.

It seems to me that since they just got done issuing me 2 purchasing permits, with all the mental health checks and whatnot, things should go pretty fast, right? I mean, all the checks were done! But of course, it won't be that simple, will it? Lol.

I assure you...it will not :(

Davidson County does a pretty good job of shortening the process. Maybe everybody here already has a CHP? o_O

The s o don't do mental checks for purchase permit. Just a background check. In the end doesn't speed up the process.

Well, they called me over there after I applied, to sign a paper saying they could get my medical records! I assume they were checking to see if I'm crazy, right? Maybe it's different in your county?

My son had his appointment December. Had to book that date in September. No indicating anything for walk in times.
His permit was available for pickup less than 6 weeks later. But because he didn't have choice mail set up they couldn't leave a message and they didn't send any email.

3 months in davidson county

On 100+ days here for my third renewal. Mecklenburg County blows. On the upside, it's helping me control my revolver buying. Can still carry but not purchase until the renewal comes through.

Meck county took almost 5 months for a renewal. My second one.

Complete horseshit. A renewal should be fast. They have already done the background check, a couple times. I've been at the same house, job, etc...for 14-15 years. They have 5 years of "nothing" to check out since my last renewal. Nonsense.

EDIT: MECKLENBURG COUNTY UPDATE - Received notice today that my renewed CCW permit it ready for pick-up. Took 112 days from appointment on June 22, 2017 to today, October 12, 2017

To make you even more ill, they notified me of my approval just after 5p on 8/2. I went to pick it up the next day and it was dated 7/18.

(Which was even worse because mine expired 7/22). I think 4/7 was my submitted date.

I moved about a year and a half ago. When I did, I changed my address with the sheriff's office. Instead of them giving me a new chp they attacked A PIECE OF PAPER to my old one. I have enough problems preserving the thick card stock one, much less a piece of paper. I asked if it was a temp, and when would I be receiving my perm new card. She looked at me like I had 2 heads, and informed that WAS my new card...

I've been at the same house, job, etc for 30 years and it took the entire 90 days for renewal in Mecklenburg.

Same here. Same job same house. Nothing changed. Not even a speeding/seatbelt citation. Nothing to check. They claimed they were waiting on mental health. I called everyday after 90 days. After about 110-115 days I called 2 times a day.

wow, think I got real lucky.

Forsyth County
Appointment was Sept 4, got a call today that my permit is ready for pickup 35 days!

How long did you need to wait for the appointment? I've heard that can take months.
