The more time I spend in the woods doing stuff (running, mtn biking, fishing, hiking...), the more I realize that I need a proper chest rig for concealed carry. Appendix, IWB, OWB don’t work well for y activities and while wearing a backpack.

I’ve seen and like the Hill People Recon bag, but it’s rather pricey at ~$95. I’ve also read a fair amount about some others advertised across the web. Any recommendations from first hand use? I carry a G27, G19, or a Shield 9.

Thanks.

Seriously though, the Hill People Gear is good stuff. They stand 100% behind their gear. Condor and Hazard 4 make chest rigs too that are good deal cheaper.

As others have said, Hill People Gear for the win. I have the heavy recon kit bag. Use it for fly fishing and other outdoor activities. Doesn’t really scream “tactical!” unless you want it to. I use a tethered kydex trigger guard in the appropriate pouch for either a 9mm shield or .357 GP100 depending on use and environment. Worth. Every. Penny. They also have an outstanding Instagram page. These guys don’t just make gear, they use the snot out of it in some of the most beautiful places in the country.

Check out Gunfighters Inc for chest rigs that would work during cooler times for CC with a jacket over or OC during the summer.

I would suggest Hill People Gear as well. I’ve heard nothing but great things about them and they look very well built. I need to quit looking at abs reading about them and just go ahead and get one.

I think I’ll order one this weekend from Hill People. Thanks for all the recommendations/suggestions.

Some other options::

I have the Simply Rugged Chesty Puller harness as is the most flexible to use holsters you might already have.

Thanks for the FHF Gear introduction. Hadn’t run across them yet but looks like they have some smart products. Might be a new hunting rig in the future...
