I never understood the right's touting this woman as an American Conservative Black Heroine.
And this stems from right after 9/11 when the facts came to light-
FBI- We have strong reasons to believe that Al Qaeda is determined to make a major attack within the United States.
Rice- Yawn. We've heard this before. Come back when you have evidence.
FBI- Here it is! We're telling you..Al Qaeda is more determined than ever to come at us. It's extremely alarming and unlike any other time.
Rice- Yawn. We're busy. I'm not going to the President with unsubstantiated hearsay.
FBI- It's not hearsay. We have them..on tape..describing what they want to do, when they want to do it, and how it's finally ready to go. We need authorization to go after them..now!
Rice- Go away.
Two weeks later, 3000 Americans died, and Rice slinks back into the shadows.
This woman, through incompetent inaction, is as directly responsible for the largest attack on American soil as any other person. Yet she was allowed to skate out of it with a pat on the back.."Nice work Condie!"
