Cooper gonna shut it down

Smart move. No forward thinking like that has gone on here that I'm aware of.

A lot of agencies are blowing dust of the retired rosters and rolls; I know some state EMS agencies are looking at ways to incorporate people who have left the profession (retirement or any other way) and whose certification has lapsed, and how to bring them back in.

Did they wear masks before when you ordered deli meats?
Yeah, you'll be fine

Nope no masks. No deli meats for me either. I've been avoiding food others handle lately as well. I was curious because I noticed this on the way to produce for a bag of onions and took a look at how they were working. In the Publix around here, you have to pass through what I call the danger zone. Not because of this virus but because the bakery and deli are right there before you get to produce.

I would think they could be of great assistance, even in a support role to free up someone that's current on their certifications.

what makes it the 'danger zone'

Bakery and deli are not healthy options for me. But I LOVE that stuff. Cardiovascular and weight issues make it bad for me to eat too much of that sort of stuff. I do sometimes, but not as much as I would like.

Ah, I see. An indulgence thing, brother, I get it! lol

If I had the skills and education I would consider that but if I had any health issues that some seniors have that would be a no.

I heard today that Rowan County Wildlife Association was closed
I cannot find adequate words to express my appreciation to RCWA Directors for protecting me and others from their perception of members' lack of responsibility (and the irresponsible people in stores in Salisbury).

RCWA Closing Notice.jpg

Simply closing RCWA would have been unpleasant, but potentially understandable. What is totally unacceptable is the sheer arrogance of the pompous martinets on the Board lecturing about being forced to close RCWA because members are irresponsible.

PHA is members only...no guests.
Technically members and immediate family.

But since it’s really a family membership, it’s kinda Members only at this point. It doesn’t specifically say “from the same household” in that email...but I thought I read it somewhere? Maybe not.

An important question to remember:

"Am I being detained?"
I prefer to say:

Members are good, all others are lepers
I prefer to use the phrase “uncultured swine” as I examine the crowds from the other side of the locked gate, through my monocle.

Don't remember if this has benn covered, but someone mentioned this to me...

166A-19.31. Power of municipalities and counties to enact ordinances to deal with states of emergency.

Type of Prohibitions and Restrictions Authorized. - The ordinances authorized by this section may permit prohibitions and restrictions:

(4) Upon the possession, transportation, sale, purchase, storage, and use of gasoline, and dangerous weapons and substances, except that this subdivision does not authorize prohibitions or restrictions on lawfully possessed firearms or ammunition. As used in this subdivision, the term "dangerous weapons and substances" has the same meaning as it does under G.S. 14-288.1. As used in this subdivision, the term "firearm" has the same meaning as it does under G.S. 14-409.39(2).

is that the verbiage that was put in place AFTER Katrina snafu, or did Katrina confiscation occur despite that?

Probation....At the probation office for my check up, homie ask, what you in for. Me...out past my bed time.

Hardened criminal life here I come

"What were you arrested for, kid?"

"Littering."

And they all moved away from me on the bench there...

Did they start giving the police PPE yet? Or are they still running around without masks?

If they do they better get over the silly notion that they are single use for a while. I think that might be a bigger problem than anyone is really considering. Gloves are to protect both parties. In this instance in particular, the mask is to protect the person wearing it only. Most places are questioning and or taking temps to control employee spread. So if the mask is for your protection, sterility isn't the issue it normally is. And changing them between patients no longer makes sense. But hey, I'm sure there is a Gov regulation out there that mandates it. Whether it makes sense in this situation or not.

It literally has not looked like a statewide shutdown on the roads.

On one hand, that’s great because it means folks recognize Cooper’s hollow authority but on the other, I was looking forward to left lane driving WITHOUT getting tailgated.

Or the order itself is so hollow and full of 'essential' people that it doesnt affect that many folks.

Have you seen any of the news or pictures from Europe? Their streets are pretty empty in many places. Have to wonder if they took the stay away directives seriously at first. As of this morning the US is up to about 217,000 cases and rising.

Has anybody heard any reliable information that Cooper is going to be issuing a state wide curfew?

I have heard it from sources that can’t cite any kind of links at all.

Europeans don't drive nearly as much as we do anyhow. And they have balconies :D

I really like how the rest of the world is showing a massive uptick in cases like this...

But not China...hell no...they got this thing beat...

I think they're just not reporting any more. I'm still seeing videos of quarantine in action leak out of China. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were just throwing people who showed any symptoms into a mass grave - don't ask, don't tell style.

Actually, had to run to Lowes today, they've built these little plexiglass barricades to 'protect' their workers from customer's breath/spittle etc

I took a pic when I was in there last Saturday.

ABC store and Food Lion had the plastic shields in Apex tonight. Kinda sad. And I still wonder how much is hype and how much is real. Culturally this has probably changed us forever. Divide, literally, and conquer? Friends and neighbors fear each other now.
