I peel back the husks, remove silk, pull husks back over the cobs, place the cobs in individual foil pouches, pour approx. 1/4 c beer in each pouch, seal and grill.
Spread cooked and husked corn with chipotle/lime butter.
THE BEST!
I do mine the same way and sometimes I substitute a little Old Bay instead of Texas Pete.Food Lion had fresh sweet corn for $1/ 3 ears. I shucked it, silked it, wrapped in foil......then and added salt, pepper, butter, and Texas Pete. This is my favorite way to eat corn.

I do the same grilling technique... But, no need to soak for hours... I soak mine for about 5 minutes. They just need enough time for the water to fill up inside the husk.I soak them in water for a few hours then grill them. This steams them in the husk, then butter and lowrys salt.
That sounds disgusting and amazing at the same time! I love mayonnaise, but never thought about putting it on corn...I cook them on the grill until husks are pretty black. Then husk them and lightly brush on a coating of mayonnaise, then roll them in fresh grated Romano cheese.

Mayonnaise. Black Man's Kryptonite! It's just another fat, when you get right down to it.
