Cory Booker said he backs legislation that would get Americans “thrown in jail” for owning "assault weapons" if they do not hand them over in a buyback program in which they would be sold to the government.


Booker, a senator for New Jersey and 2020 presidential hopeful, said that incarceration would be an option after a “reasonable period" following the buyback offer.

Earlier in the day, Booker unveiled a 14-part gun control plan, which included a ban on assault weapons including high capacity magazines.


“The biggest thing in the proposal is a national gun licensing program, which would force Americans to apply for 5-year gun licenses before obtaining a firearm. The process would include fingerprinting, an interview, gun safety courses, and a federal background check,” Booker said in a statement announcing the proposal.

I’m a pretty laid back kind of guy but I do get tired of listening to morons try to tell me how I must live and what I’m allowed to have, all based on their beliefs. I do long for a day when people that try to encroach upon my freedom are ostracized in society.

I very much believe that the government is playing the long game in disarming the public with the end game being total control with no fear of effective resistance. I’m only 50 so I think I may live long enough to see the fruits of their labor, I just hope that I’m still physically able to pull the trigger when the day comes.
 
It’s all about being stupid to draw attention. I’m sure at least one them has proposed making abortions free and scheduling public school classes around muslim prayer times.
 
He's all about releasing waves of "non-violent" offenders (some who also have past firearms violations :confused:), but he's all for throwing law-abiding citizens in jail...

He's reaching. Now that Creepy Uncle Joe is the frontrunner, his numbers are slipping, and he will align with whatever platform he can to make himself relevant in the polls. In this case, crazy stuff like this plays well with the far left, so he's hoping to separate from that pack. I predict most of the other nutbags will do the same.

They are all trying to normalize this type of rhetoric and "thinking". Say it loud enough and long enough and people... that is sheeple will start thinking it is the way to go. You won't be just fighting the cops, it will be tens of millions of your fellow countryman, and I use that term loosely, that will help them in one way or another (e.g. red flag laws).

They are trying to mainstream this BS and it is working, just like with all the other clown world ideologies. smh.

I used to laugh at the obligatory "tar and feather" comments to stories like this...

Absolutely! I promise to come up with plans to get everyone a pre-lock model 19. Each documented to have been carried by at least 2 Medal of Honor winners in combat. It will be a great plan!

Hey Bugger eater, I have a Constitutional Right to own firearms. How about we start putting restrictions on other rights. Voting fees and waiting periods. You say its a women's right to get an abortion? So, waiting periods and limited to one abortion per life. Can only have only bible, etc. If you don't do it then prison. Guy is a dumb donkey.

Let it not be forgotten that my opponent was one who voted for the Hillary Holes in the first place. I plan to make those who even say “Hillary Hole” be required to pay a 5 box of ammo tax to the offended party.

Don't hate me for saying this, but if a Democrat were my only choice for a 2020 vote, I'd vote for Biden slightly ahead of Hillary. He's inept enough to be relatively harmless. Hillary would increase the values of our firearms back to pre-Trump days. I'd vote for either of them tenfold over the Crazy Communist Sanders, the Nasty Harris, or the absolute Idiot Booker. I really believe Warren is mentally ill.
