Apparently this is a real life adaptation of a Japanese cartoon series.

Just watched the first episode and I’m hooked. Hard to explain. It’s a space cowboy, bounty hunter show.

The fight scenes are awesome. The smartassery is on point and the cinematography is pretty awesome.
 
you should watch the anime. maybe it's just nostalgia, but the anime was better to me
that being said...
fay is killing the role she's in. spike is pretty good too, but smaller than he should be. spike is kind of hit or miss. vicious looks like tom petty's brother and i'm not okay with that. Also, vicious is being a scenery chewing bad guy, and i think they're giving him too much screen time too early.

Even with all the bad things i just said, I greatly enjoyed the first few episodes i watched and intend to finish the series.

Never been an anime fan. Which is weird because I typically enjoy cartoons. Love sex and robots, for example, heavy metal. All of the Disney and Pixar catelogs as well as looney toons of course.

But not anime. And I’ve tried.

I’ll check the anime version of this out when I’m done with this.
 
 
941R - and it has not been terribly easy to find already.
looks like they stuck with it for the live action. this will probably make it harder to find.
But they changed Jet's walther p99 to a chiappa rhino.
Fay seems to be going back and forth from glock (per the anime) to canik. there are lots of caniks so far, which preserves the style of the walthers. some may have been real walthers, its' hard to tell with the flash images and i don't feel like ripping the stream to examine frame by frame
p99 was also featured in the anime NOIR, around the same time as bebop, as the gun of choice for mirielle. her partner kirika used the beretta 1934

as a strange coincidence, I buy a lot of walther and beretta.
 
you know there's a guy that's been trying to sell a version of the 941 here on the site for months. not the right version, but a version
 
It has Danielle Pineda. That’s enough for me to try it. She’s smoking.
 
Wrong person to play Spike. He can't pull it off, at least not from that trailer. Maybe he gets better as the show goes on?
Enjoyed the anime years ago, may have to go see if I still have the dvds somewhere.
