Bravo Zulu (kudos) to Tar Heel State Firearms for the fantastic price break and incredible customer service in getting my paperwork submitted!

First, let me tell you about my first experience in trying to buy suppressors so you will understand why I'm so excited about Tar Heel State Firearms:
I placed an order four months ago with a different outfit for suppresssors, and chose that company because their claim is that they handle everything for the customer and make it smooth and easy. Well, I don't hear from them unless I contact them, first. On top of that, I had to wonder about their QA when they asked me for another copy of my trust -- six weeks after it was supposedly sent in to the ATF.
Now, with Tar Heel State Firearms, the online ordering was smooth and no-nonsense, but they really shined where Scott got involved. He sent me several emails letting me know what steps needed to be completed and what he needed from me. Within 30 minutes of sending in the scanned copy of my notarized trust, I received the emails showing the e-file confirmation! These guys ROCK.

Based on the service from Tar Heel State Firearms, I very well may receive my order from them BEFORE the order from the other company comes through, even though that order was placed four months earlier. Wow, I wish I had placed my first order with Tar Heel State Firearms!

I am happy to report my positive experience with them as well which I already spoke about in a different thread. A friend of mine also bought a Sparrow from Tarheel State a few days after I bought my Apex-S. He's not a forum member so he doesn't post here, but I can confirm that Scott was really helpful and incredibly responsive. This was my friend's first NFA item so he didn't have any personal experience with the process. I got him squared away on his trust and what to expect but Scott helped him make the purchase and get all the ducks in a row from a paperwork and eFile perspective.

All I know is that Scott is serious about selling suppressors. That AAC TiRant deal in the other thread is making me twitch. Think I might need to give my credit card to the wife and tell her to hide it somewhere!

I too have to echo what has been said here. Scott is a class act and a true businessman.

I was a complete noob to the NFA/trust process and Scott patiently walked me through despite plenty of dumb questions and mistakes on my part.

I liked the fact that Scott always replied to my emails within minutes and if I wanted to I could always just call him knowing that he would pick right up.

If you are considering a NFA purchase I highly recommend working with Scott.

Count me as another extremely satisfied customer. Just recently ordered my first suppressor from Tar Heel State Firearms. Scott made what I was originally thinking was going to be a complicated process very simple and straight forward. He answers emails very quick and is always available to call if I had questions. I had my confirmation email that I was E-Filed that same day I put the order in and I have been kept in the loop and informed every step of the way. Bottom line is Scott is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I would order from him again without question.

There are very few occasions when I experience customer service that goes way beyond "great". The level of customer service I received from Tarheel State firearms went way beyond that when I bought my suppressor from them.

I ordered my first suppressor through Tarheel State Firearms a few weeks ago and had the same great experience as the others posted here. I have always wanted a suppressor but was completely intimidated and confused about the whole process. Reading conflicting posts by "internet experts" on what to do or paying an attorney a mint or for a "fill in your name here" trust template, you had to pay a class 3 dealer up to $150 more than already I was paying wasn't worth the hassle to me.

The owner of Tarheel State Firearms, Scott, made the process simple and guided me every step of the way. His was not only patient in answering my questions (looking back some were pretty dumb:), but never made me feel like idiot for being a noob on suppressors. He always responded immediately by email and always answered his phone when I called. Scott offered solid advice on products and what would be best for what I wanted to do instead of what was the most expensive. His knowledge base on suppressors and ATF guidelines for approval are second to none. I was so impressed I bought another one.

I would highly recommend Scott and Tarheel State Firearms if you are in the market or have considered it before but found the process daunting. He will guide you through every step, give you the best prices, and provide great service.

Wow. I thought I was his only customer! Just kidding, but that's how he will make you feel....like you are his only customer. I still need to post about my experiences lately with him, but it will take a while, and would sound like I'm brown nosing. All these reviews are spot-on. Scott is awesome if you need someone to be extremely patient and attentive. Thank you, Scott!

I'm currently working with him and could not be happier with the service. Most of my emails were answered in 30 minutes or less. The longest time was on a Sunday and I did not expect an answer till Monday to be honest. I posted a question one night, I had a PM first thing in the morning offering me a trust template and any help he could provide. Trust is with him now. We are meeting Sunday to let my wife and I handle some suppressors. I should be making my purchase this weekend.

The very first post by dkmatthews describes my situation exactly (kinda eerie actually). I went with Scott for one of the new SilencerCo Harvesters. He answered all my emails quickly, and helped me out on ordering when the computer I have here in Afghanistan wouldn't let me get to the checkout page on his website. He has kept in contact and will provide updates as he gets them. Couldn't be happier. His company will get my business in the future.

Met up with Scott today. He offered to meet halfway and Gtown was nice enough to host the impromptu suppressor party. Got to handle all the suppressors I was interested in, a few I wasn't, and a few I might want later. Scott was super nice, knowledgable, answered all our questions and gave me some pointers for setting up the 5.56 on the .30 cal can. I believe I will not be the only one getting a can after today, or another can for some. I got home and placed my order for the 30p-1 at about 3:00. At about 5:30 I got an email that my Form 4 had been submitted. Now the wait begins. I can't say enough how easy Scott made the process.

In each and every email I traded with Scott, he was prompt and professional. I jumped in and made my first purchase, a Liberty Torch for my Bushmaster AR15. Scott took the time to answer any and all questions I have had. He uses the e-file system and look forward to enjoying my suppressor soon!

I would like to echo Scott's professionalism and customer service which lead to a great customer experience so far. Aside from being a stocking dealer, which was a huge plus for me, he was very knowledgeable and helpful on the entire eform process. I had purchased a 45 Osprey from another Class 3 dealer (close friend) and it took about 8 weeks for them to receive it into their inventory and they had a few questions about the efile process. Scott was kind enough to let me run those by him which helped get the transfer rolling, as well as immediately put in my Form 4 for a SWR Spectre 2.

Great transaction so far. I'm a big believer in feedback at the completion of a transaction as well, so I'll be sure to provide feedback as the tax stamp rolls in. I'm confident the level of service and response will continue to be the same. Tks Scott!

You could say I have had the same experience as the rest of you. I had actually purchased three suppressors from a company out of state before I had found his card at the local range. After a few phone calls and emails (which were responded to within 30 min) I had my transfers sent to Scott. After having a bad experience with the out of state dealer I canceled one of the suppressors and due to his great customer service I have now purchased four more and an SBR from him. Scotts customer service is such top quality he even offered to bring my suppressors to the range so I could use them. I highly recommend Scott and Tar Heel State Firearms.

Could not believe how easy and painless Scott made it. I emailed him a question on Saturday he emailed me the forms and answered all the questions I had. Filled out the forms today .I had some more questions .Scott called me on the phone and answered the rest of my questions. Just got the email from Scott with my form 4.Fast easy and painless .thanks!

There's not much i can say that hasn't already been mentioned in this thread, but my experience with Scott at Tarheel State Firearms was so exceptional that i feel compelled to let other people know!

Scott helped guide me through setting up a trust, and then answered the absurd amount of questions i had about the 5-6 suppressors that i was considering. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained all of the pros and cons of each model/brand. Once my decision was made, the ordering process was quick and easy and he submitted the e-forms on the same day. The price was great and he actually had all of the models i was considering in stock (very rare for a local suppressor shop). I'm convinced the man doesn't sleep because he answered my emails and phone calls at all times of the day. Case in point: my atf form was approved at 6:33 AM on Saturday and he let me know at 6:37 AM. To top it all off, he let me come pick it up on Sunday!

If you are considering a suppressor purchase, you should stop thinking about it and call Scott!

Just recieved my can from Tar Heel State Firearms, and I must say that it was the best customer service I have ever recieved. They where easily reachable for any questions. They cared about the person and there experience, not just the sell. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about buying a new can. I am definitely looking forward to having more business with Tar Heel State Firearms. Great job

2 thumbs up for this vendor. Scott is a great guy to deal with and was very helpful and patient with me as this was my 1st suppressor purchase. He makes things easy and understandable. He had the Ti-Rant .45 and it was priced right. Will be purchasing my next suppressor from him!

Another happy customer from Tarheel State Firearms.

From the beginning of the process to the final delivery, I have nothing bad to say about Scott. I hadn't contacted Him after receiving the confirmation that my form had been eFiled (which we joked about when I took delivery), but got "the call" late last night and returned the call even later, which He actually picked up! After taking delivery I mentioned that I'd be looking towards another purchase sometime in the future but hadn't gone too deep into research yet and Scott offered to show me some options, but I politely declined as I hadn't planned on "shopping" today, no offense taken by him. Scott has the perfect middle-ground: He's not going to rush you out the door, and he won't press a sell either.

Look forward to doing business with them again.

I can't even talk about Scott. Can't even begin to talk about the money this man has cost me. Maybe one day I'll come clean. I just hope my wife doesn't read it!

It started out as Scott helping me with another dealer issue. That turned into a TiRant 9, thunderbeast 223ba, thunderbeast 338ba, daniel defense mk18, and a daniel defense DDMV4 300 blackout SBR.

I just can't quit Scott. He's that good of a guy. (And for the record, he's the third class 3 dealer I've bought from-and the last).

Echo all that has been said - my last suppressor purchase and all future purchases will be from Scott after my experience with him. Cannot say enough nice things. Have never had another business owner answer emails so promptly or be so helpful - guys like that deserve to have a successful business.

JOINTDOC

Scott sent me a copy of a trust to fill out and answered many questions AND sent me a couple of examples so i could get my SBR build done..

this was all done without him making a penny on anything... that is just good business... friendly, knowledgeable, and a great person to deal with... i just wish i had more time to spend playing with some of the toys he brought to the suppressor shoot.

now i am just trying to decide which suppressor i am gonna get, cause i WILL have one by spring!!!

I will echo what has been said before. Working with Scott was a very smooth process and he was always professionall, quick to respond, and has great prices. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. Great customer service.

At the urging of BigWaylon, I checked out Scott. He didn't have in stock what I wanted, but of course offered to order, at a price that I couldn't turn down (compared to Silencer Shop with local $85 transfer fee). Then I ended up buying another silencer he did have in stock! $$$ kaching to my finances... my 3rd and 4th silencers...

Scott was super responsive to all my emails and I feel very comfortable handing the process off to him.

Nice to do business "locally" (although I am quite a distance away from him)...

I would definitely buy from him again, and send others his way--but gotta slow down on silencers as I build an SBR!

Amen to that!!! Scott is excellent. Always responds to emails and text promptly and is just a great guy in general!! I've also been thinking about sending him my next SBR Lower to not only engrave it for my trust but also thinking about getting my avatar on the magwell!!

Wanted to add to this yet again! Rode with a buddy who was picking up his 2 suppressors yesterday. It's about a 3 hour ride to Scott's house from our area. I thought since I was going I'd take my newest lower I was going to SBR and leave it with him since I hadn't made an appt. I figured since I didn't tell him I was bringing i'd just drop it off and just have him mail it back to me. Scott not only said he could do it but did it while I was there. I was able to take it home with me and only had to wait 45 min. That included the time my buddy filled out his paperwork. You just can't say enough good things about Scott!

I forgot to add that the 45 min wait also included waiting for two other people to have their lowers engraved. Once he got to me it was less than 10 minutes.

Scott have done laser engraving for my 9mm sbr lower. Very nice and finely done job. Everything was very fast, I sent lower Friday and get it back Wednesday. And yep, very fast, nice and professional communication. It was pleasure to have business with him.

I've dealt with Scott many times over the past few years, but I don't think I've ever given him credit on the forums for just being a great NFA dealer and an all around nice guy.

He emailed me earlier to let me know that my omega 9k cleared. I don't know of anyone with an omega 9k yet. I say this because it means that he needed to have the item in stock (in this case that would mean on a form 3 before it even debuted to the public for sale), and the form 4 filed as soon as it was paid for. Scott is on top of keeping items in stock and filing paperwork. That's exactly what's needed in a good NFA dealer. Competitive pricing is just icing on the cake. Not sure that I could ask for anything else.

This post is about 3 years overdue, but the approval email reminded me that THSF just rocks. Scott, keep up the good work my friend!

I am sorry to say that today I have come to the sobering realization that Scott has let me down

For the first time since I have met Scott and found THSF I have no form 4s pending!!!
clear.png
HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN SCOTT!!

There should be safeguards in place to prevent this from happening. What the hell do I have to look forward to? Sure a few eform 1s but that doesn't give me the tingles like a form 4 suppressor does.

Shame on you Scott!! SHAME!!!!!!!!

Excellent customer service for NFA knowledge, engraving NFA items and accessories!

These fine folks went out of their way for me and are highly recommended!

Agreed, Great service from Scott and his wife! Both are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to my next drive down, when my Ruger silencer gets paroled.

Silencers make shooting more fun. THSF makes buying easy.

Thanks, Scott!

Count me in as a satisfied customer. I was kept up to date with status, I got precisely what I ordered and my items came as soon as the stamps were received.

That's not always the case with NFA stuff but it sure is with Scott.

Two thumbs up!

Hmmm...I guess I never said anything nice about THSF on the other site for Scott to copy over here.

I've made a "few" purchases since I found Scott, and they've all been handled as professionally as you could ask for. Also used them for quite a few engravings (both firearm related and non-firearm) and Teri has knocked them all out flawlessly.

Purchased my first can from THSF and it was a breeze. Bought my second one from them too now if I can keep from going crazy waiting on the stamp to come back I'll be good!

Another big +1 to Tarheel. I don't know about that Scott fella, but his wife know's what's up on the laser and will get you squared away quick, fast, and in a hurry. His prices on accessories are very reasonable as well. If you are considering a F1 build, NFA transfer, or buying direct Scott is your man!

Bought several suppressors from Scott. Have also recommended him to lots of other people that have bought suppressors from him as well as engraving services. He's the best as far as I'm concerned. I don't go anywhere else for Class III items.

Even if the HPA is passed, I'll still buy my stuff from Scott. He's a good guy and he does a great job on the paperwork side of things.

I don't know what else good to say that everyone hasn't already said except that Scott is The Man!

Super nice and helpful! I wanted to make a purchase from a site sponsor and Scott exceeded my expectations! I know where to go now for future purchases!

Thanks again Scott!

Scott is outstanding. I’ve done a lot of transfers with him. Great to have such a good guy & helpful ffl so close by. Big thumbs up.

Ditto,

Scott makes the process easy.....all you have to do is be patient! I first went with TSF during the Silencerco promotion and he sold me then. Its convient to have the engraving service on site.
