So, I shot my first tournament today with my Dad, and what a blast! I shot 1 round of Sporting Clays for the 1st time ever, Wobble Trap for the 1st time ever, and we finished up with a round of skeet. I hit 50 targets out of 100, scoring 19 (of 25) on skeet, 9 (of 25) on wobble trap and 22 (of 50) in Sporting Clays. Not great, but I had never shot SC or WT, and would've had a better WT game with the right chokes.

Never spent a better $30 to shoot clays, and can't wait to find another clays event to go shoot with Dad!

Oh, I almost forgot, all shot with my new CZ Redhead Premier Target, which now has over 1100 flawless rounds through it.

Congrats! What an awesome way to spend the day. I miss shooting my shotgun. Just sits there lounging around in the safe.

So the real question is: Did your Dad beat your scores?!?

He sure did, I shot 50 and he shot 54. I beat him at skeet though, and that's bugging him... :D

Where did you guys shoot?? We should have a shotgun get together coming up soon. I tried to put one together a few weeks ago but it fizzled out.....

If it's a weekend event I'd likely be able to make it. You should have another one.

Adding a little competition makes shooting so much more fun.

Wait, did I score sporting clays for you guys? Red fishing shirt. lol

We had a good crowd. Been so busy around here I didn't think to post it up, and honestly it's been a members only day for a long time and I knew SC was open to the public but didn't realize the whole shoot was open. Grrrr. Next year I'll try and get it up here if we do it again. We had about 66 shooters in the comp and about 10-15 more that just shot SC. I finally hit the SC range with the last guy through and shot 40/50. They put up a really fun course yesterday.

We shot pretty early, starting with sporting clays @ 8:30 or so, just my Dad, me, and our scorer. The clays course was incredibly fun! I will be better prepared for Wobble Trap next time, I'll shoot tighter chokes.

Who was the overall winner?

You were just behind us then I think. I talked to you about the CZ when you brought it in cased I think. My daughter and I split the 10 member group up and were scoring them.

Exactly! Well, I should've worn my CFF hat....

Yeah, small world huh. Glad you guys had a good time. Are you guys members out there or just found out and came to shoot?

Regardless, we do Sporting clays on the first and third Sat of every month. Same course, but they change the traps around occasionally. Open to the public. I don't have keys to the wobble trap because no one here wants to shoot it with me. But I do have the keys to the skeet field and can shoot there too.

I'll happily shoot anything with you any time I'm available. Skeet is what I'm most comfortable on, but I really enjoyed stepping outside my usual boundaries yesterday and can't wait to do it again. Wobble Trap was lots of fun, I just didn't have the right chokes in my gun for the distance. If you want to get together sometime and shoot, send me a PM and we'll compare schedules.
