Hello all,

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I have an issue with my P07.

So I took my pistol to the range today and wanted to test some hollow point ammo. I put the magazine in and released the slide and it didn't go into battery. When I tried to pop the slide forward it still wouldn't go. I tried to clear the round but it was stuck.

Tried a different type of hollow point and same issue.

I tried regular ball ammo, and no issue.....

I have put hollow points thru it before with no issues. This is my truck gun and need it to feed all ammo. I know the hollow points are slightly longer than ball ammo.

I took the gun home, cleaned it thoroughly, and still not cycling right.

Any ideas that might cause this to happen?

it sounds like the ogive of the bullet may be contacting the barrel, indicating the chamber may be short. CZ is known for having short chambers although I’ve never had any issues. However I would suggest a few measurements and diagnostic workup:

1. Is this factory loaded ammo or hand loads?
2. measure the OAL of the HP ammo to ensure its correct and not too long.
3. the rounds that were chambered and got stuck - measure those rounds too to ensure the bullets didn’t set back causing possibly dangerous situation if they’re fired in another pistol.

if the factory ammo checks out and is not chambering, then reach out to CZ and let them fix the chamber.

Another thing to add... the round seemed to have a scratch going the length of the case.

that’s just from the slide running up over the rounds in the magazine. there is a lug under the breech face that functions to 1) push down on the rounds in the mag to ensure they are out of the way during ejection and 2) push the top round up out of the mag towards the chamber during forward slide movement. If it’s a fine scratch in the case it’s no big deal. If there are gouges there could be a burr on the slide lug but I’ve never actually seen such a thing. Overall I wouldn’t worry about it.

Indeed common on CZ's to have a short chamber. I have seen 147g HP's have problems.
Chamber can easily be reamed a hair and that is a common modification on CZ's.

Edit: I would also double check for clean chamber and give it a good scrub with a brush, especially if I had fired plenty before.

Thanks for the advice. I did clean everything thoroughly. I will take it to a local gunsmith and see what they can do.

I would second that, they might surprise you. PSA removed a stuck casing for me in no time.

Will do, thank you for this community!!!

@Engineerguy30 CZ has excellent CS. ive had them fix a few pistols over the years and always been pleased. they may require you to fill out an online RMA request as many manufacturers require it nowadays I suspect mostly to ensure adequate tracking of their repair work, sender info, address, etc. Either way, call them and let them guide you.

I screwed up my Shadow2 and the trigger wasn’t right. They replaced the pistol.

I had to change my dies to get it to pass the ‘plunk test’.
