Got one on the way to my FFL. Already have the holster ordered but I need 3 more mags. Are the magazines for this the same as regular mecgar mags? I don't want to buy the wrong ones and would like them all to be the same. Anyone else have one? If so amything I should be aware of or might want to change? I have been running a Glock 17 so this is a big change but one I have been wanting to make for a while.

Hoping to have everything I need to get some practice and a match or 2 in before the NC Sectional.

Thanks for the help!

One thing you'll find out about CZ is they are really parts specific sometimes. Im not sure exactly about the mags but I do know you have to becareful when ordering basepads, learned that the hardway.

Congrats on the blaster

That's what I'm afraid of. I want to get the mags asap so I can run a match but looking at pictures tricks me a little. I see longer base pads and flush ones. Gotta fit in the box so I guess I will wait till I have it in hand, unless someone already has one and knows for sure.

My sp01 loves mecgars with the +2 baseplates for a 19+1 capacity. Don't know if that helps but I know the mecgar mags have a great rep for other cz's.

The Shadow 2 uses Mecgar 17 round mags with blue followers and the anti friction coating I believe.
Greg Cote has great prices and pretty fast shipping.

As Climberman noted, it also should work great with the same magazine that is available with a +2 extension.

Now, this is what I have seen on the few I have handled. But it's great because they are the best mags for all the CZ75s. And cheap!

Your pistol should be able to use any magazine from any cz75b/spo1/shadow pistol. It's when you want to add basepads and extensions that it becomes tricky.
If you don't need more capacity, just use the 17 rounders.

Such nice guns. I bet you are gonna love it.

it should be noted that a lot of pictures show the Shadow 2 with each of the mags I mention above, so do some checking before ordering.

That's exactly where I was looking at the mags. Thanks for the info!

@NKD, how much time do y'all spend with these gun glamor shots? They are usually pretty good. That looks like a magazine advertisement.

Thanks! Just an iPhone camera and no expert here. But here's what I do:
I am always looking for that nice light. When you have that (often end of day when sky is glowing) you just need to find a nice spot to stage the gun, then just get a interesting angle.
I'll take many pics and ditch the ones that suck immediately.

Mostly it's finding nice ambient light and not direct sunlight.

So:
Good light
Good stage / background to make gun pop
Take a couple from different angles and review

That particular day the light was magnificent and @Slappy McTrigger has awesome rocks in his back yard! Just kind of a perfect picture storm.

So is this a production or limited setup? Trying to figure this uspsa thing out.

Very nice! Is this stock/USPSA Production legal.

When I make A, I'll reward myself one of these.

It would be kicked out of production due to the flat SAO trigger. Production pistols with hammers must start with hammer down.
It would be legal for limited minor.

He shoots ZSA, 2gun, etc. with it.

A simple swap back to the DA trigger and disconnector would make it production legal and take about 15 minutes or less.

Here's a better pic of Eddies gun above, just to get the juices flowing Big Twig:

If only I could get away with that in production.

I have only seen the basic black ones online (in the US) and that's what I got. Would love to change the grips but again have only seen them online from out of the country, Canada was the closest.

Gun looks awesome!

Oh goodie, I can help you spend money! Armory Craft in FLA has all the Euro CZub grips. They also have matching triggers, bases, and magwells, which of course can't be used for production.

edit: a lot of stuff shows out of stock, but he frequently gets more stuff in so check back if there is a particular color.

Also, LOK Grips makes cool grips for CZ. Like the blue pictured above. Nothing wrong with the black grips it comes with, they are high quality.

You are right, the stock grips are very nice.

Magnet on the belt isn't Production legal, and I doubt it would fit in the box with those basepads either...

Ordered (10) 17+2 mags from Greg Cotes LLC. Great service, great mags and low shipping cost. Love the Shadow 2. By the way my trigger came in at under 4lbs out of the box.
My Sig P320 was 7.9lbs.

Totally forgot about this thread. The gun is a shooter for sure. Gonna take some getting used to the double action first shot for USPSA Production but besides that I really like the gun.
