CZ Shadow 2...

It might can belong to someone else too! I can’t stand tools that won’t work for the job in which they were intended. So much, I won’t own them!

I was actually not impressed with the crown on my Orange!
Always thought about having it recut.

If they replace it and let you keep the original let me know if don’t want it. I would put it to good use.

I didn’t even acknowledge them.

I’m betting CZ tells me the same...

In defense of those who have said that, I have seen leading that looked like your pictures. I am sure that is it obvious in person it isn't leading. However, I know already that you know the difference, so I never mentioned it. :)

I have also seen lead buildup that looks like that. Mostly on .22's tho.

Like a .22 race gun with comp. It can build up on crown. Also seen similar on the crown of a 10/22 after shooting Remington Thunderturds!

Yep. Seen it a lot with Thunderturds.

Talked to them today. They said send it back. He said they only go to the range once a month to test guns so it may be 8-12 weeks before they get it back to me...

If anyone wants a Shadow 2 in 8-12 weeks, start saving your pennies now. I will just keep shooting my plastic guns.

The “gunk” came off of the muzzle when I ran a bore snake through it a couple times. I suppose it was lead. Why? I have no idea. I’ve ran the same 9mm load for probably 6 years using the exact same components and load data. I would guess around 200k rounds, likely more! I have 2 buddies who run the same load, not to mention the thousands of others who use it as it’s likeky the most popular load for 9mm in competition. This has NEVER happened to any of my other guns. I’ve probabky shot it through 50 or more 9mm handguns and carbines with no issue.

I have one M&P that hasn’t been cleaned in 4 years. I’ve puprosly not cleaned to see if it will malfunction. It hasn’t, and it’s not leaded up like that either.

Mayhaps the bore is oversized? Maybe flame cutting around the bullet is causing lead to deposit like that, which could also be the culprit in your accuracy issues.

Hey man I called dibs!:p

If someone wants this one, they can get it. I’m not mad enough to give it away but I definitely don’t want it. I’m sure CZ will make it right for whomever, I’ve just lost interest.

Man, I think you should give it another chance.

Plenty of plastic guns from every manufacturer have gone back.

Schmeky AKA David of CGW said over on the CZ forum that they are seeing a lot of QC/QA issues with current production CZs. This is not normal. I personally send my Shadow 2 which functioned well because the Urban Gray finish is flaking which has never happened to me with any other polycoated CZ. When speaking with customer service they said that they believed the surface was not prepped properly and it caused the finish to prematurely flake. I am 2 weeks into a 6 week wait for a resolution.

It sucks because I love the gun. It is an accurate soft shooter and can't wait to get it back.

I didn’t see it that way at first, but you’re right. Positive perspective. I need to surround myself with more people like you!

I think you might be the first person to ever call me the "positive perspective." LMAO

Honestly I am not sure what the deal is. It is strange because I don't doubt for a second that you can shoot that target or better at that range. You shoot enough different ammo its not a load or bullet issues. If he shot group with that the gun it should have produced similar results in your hands. I guess all you can do it take it out and shoot it to see what it does.

It’s likely good enough for my intended purpose.

I tend to expect too much from everything and everybody. A character flaw that I really need to address.

Well my "uninformed" impression of the Shadow 2 is that it is not made to be a tack driver like Sig P210, Swiss or German, or a S&W 952. It is made to run fast and make positive hits in USPSA Production Division and steel challenges. That said it should still shoot better than your initial experience. IMHO Mine does.
