A man cannot avoid the truth !

It is a 3 hr 20 minute drive for me but I’ll check the calendar and see if I can make it down.

This event looks like it will be a grand time!

If I can do it, you can do it. ;)

I’ll be there. The Olde Dragon may be at the beach & I may slip her a roofy & bring her with me.
Bring your sister in law. I’ll bring the roofy

Is anyone planning to bring an FN 5.7? I'm curious about this gun and really want to shoot one before laying out that much coin.

If I can make it, I can bring mine. Think I bought it around 07 so not sure what the difference is in the newer models. Fun to shoot to say the least! That $950 price is pretty good as most I’ve seen lately are well north of 1K!

Semi or full auto carrier in the AR57?
Unfortunately it's semi. I didn't know it was even different and tried it on a FA lower. When it didn't work, I started investigating. Not sure I want to drop the $200+ for FA carrier since I don't have a FA lower.

I don't blame you there, just thought I would offer you the opportunity to run it on my RR. I'm planning to come and was hoping to talk an friend in joining me but he is probably going to the Knob Creek MG shoot.

OCTOBER 13 & 14, 2018

Make your plans now for the Fall Meet & Greet at Battery Oaks Range at 2055 Mikes Road Conway, SC 29526. @BatteryOaksBilly and his wife, Ronnie Sue, have graciously offered the range for the gathering. This event will be held rain, shine, sunny, cloudy, and maybe even during a hurricane, depends on the Category.

Battery Oaks is located just minutes from the beaches of the Grand Strand. For those that wish to stay overnight, there are hundreds of hotels and condos available nearby and in October rates are lower than in the summer. Billy is also able to accommodate some self contained campers/RVs (no power , water, sewer hook ups available), tent campers, and plenty of trees to hang a hammock.

We know that many of the members are awesome grillers and BBQers. We'll see who will want to bring a grill or cooker and show off their skills. Others, can contribute a covered dish or something. Y'all know what to do. We'll get more into this as we get closer to the event.

Yes, it's months away but we will be talking about and planning as we go. As time draws closer, we will start to get a head count to get an idea of the number of guests. Then, we can plan accordingly.

By all means, please try to make it to this. You'll be glad that you did.

Edit:
Since there will be live fire on the premises, everyone will be required to sign a liability waiver/consent form. Also, due to the way the waiver/consent form is written, this event will be for ages 21 and over.

Battery Oaks is a non-smoking facility. That said, there is a burn barrel that can be used as a smoking area. As it should be, just clean up after yourself and police the others if needed. We need to leave the entire area in the condition that it was found, or better.

Alcohol consumption will not be tolerated due to liability issues. Live fire and alcohol don't mix. That said, the ones that elect to camp overnight can have a drink while sitting around talking about the day's events. As always, don't get out of hand and clean up after yourselves.

Battery Oaks has neighbors nearby and Billy lives on site. After dark the noise will need to be kept low to show respect to our hosts and their neighbors. We're all adults now, let's act like it and, hopefully, we'll get invited back.

Thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation.
Sounds like the Rockin' In The Woods concerts I used to go to in Surry County, VA! Only without the southern rock or the "substances"...
Rockin'...with Guns!
I can't believe we used to do those concerts in July, in tents, with portapotties.....

BTW..for anybody coming from outside of SC, you should still have time to file a 5320.20 for any MG/DD/SBR/SBS you want to bring. Remember silencers and AOWs are exempt from this nonsense.

I already have approved forms for all of 2018 (for 10 different states), but I filed my 2019 forms on 7/24, approved on 8/8, and got them back in the mail today...8/17.

Well my buddy ain't going to Knob Creek so if I can bring two guests I might be able to make it!
Yes, please bring them. If they are not members here, ask em why and sign them up.

Thanks Geezer, they're two of my best friends and rabid guns guys. One is probably trying to sign up as I type this and he has, as a FFL/SOT, been the primary enabler behind my gun habit.

I'll update the attendance thread once they confirm their schedules.

Perhaps as the date closes in we can make a list of what we are bringing so we don't have too many duplicates?

Bring anything, the more the better. Remember, our timed event will be for your carry gun. You can cheat...but you'll know it.
You're saying you'll doubt I really use a G18 for my EDC?

A G 18 is a good choice but you'll only need 5 rounds for this. But, it is a timed drill so speed will be a factor. Oh, and accuracy, almost forgot about accuracy. As Billy likes to say, "Shoot as fast as you can." My problem is when I'm under the timer, I tend to shoot faster than I can.

Not sure whether I asked this before (Oldtimerz)...

is anybody planning to bring an FN 5.7? If so, I'll buy a box or two of ammo. I'd like the chance to shoot one.

Planning on bring a couple 45-70s.

The best thing about that weekend is the GA Bull Dawgs are off. GREAT timing.
