DC shooting

I watched it on YouTube and slowed it down. Pretty sure if I had been in the same situation as the officer, I’d have shot him also.

I can hear it already - "he was just trying to get rid of a toy and the cop didn't have to shoot him. they planted that gun in the grass and that wasn't what he had."

yep. i actually do think he was in the process of throwing the gun. but how could anyone know in that instant? it was all sooooo fast!

Good thing they slowed that video down because I'm still struggling to see how anyone could possibly throw a gun half that distance.....underhanded at that

It would be hard to know that he was slinging the gun and not drawing it to fire.
I’m so slow, I’d still be standing there as the gun went flying by.
Those where fantastic reflexes.

The camera had to have distorted that throw. It looks like he pitched that gun 100+ yards.

A Bersa .380 weight empty is 20 oz. not sure if he had that model or a 9mm. Dude had a long muscular arm.

So I watched the video in another thread (same video, but didnt watch the whole thing, just the shot)
Now seeing the whole thing thanks to @Wahoo95 and @gunbelt 's comments - holy cow he launched that thing. I agree with Curt, video must make it seem like further than it actually was, cause it looks like quite the distance.

I haven't watched a video or read any articles...but I did see somebody in another thread say it was found 90’ away.
