Decided to join the bench rest challange

Just ordered my new rifle to join you gents and in the new future start competing in local 5o yard bench rest comps, like I used to do years ago..
I bought this Savage, because I like the way they shoot and think they are comparable to the CZ because Ive had both in the past..Decided on the Savage Mark 2 BTVS, stainless because I like the bling and will be topped with Mueller scope

Glad to have you @Lager and look forward to seeing what you can make that new Savage do. I’ve never shot one but when I got my CZ455 the Savage was one of the contenders at the end so I’m sure you’ll be happy with it.

Thanks Mike, Im really looking forward to getting back into the most difficult shooting sport that Ive encountered and Ive done most of them over the years with good success. The CZ 455 you have is a fine rifle and I competed with one for a few years with good results. I went with the Savage because I had of those too when I first started with 50 yard 22 lr comps and liked its accuracy. For what I spent on this Savage, It was almost in the CZ price range but had the thumbhole stock which I really wanted. I went with the stainless because I like flashy guns and I'm old so I'm going to buy what I want.. I have a Mueller 8- 32 x 44 target scope that I run at 24 power for 50 yard distance that's served me well and just ordered a brick of Wolf match ammo that I will be starting out with to see if it shoots acceptable and if not , will go back to Eley Black ammo that's always worked for me in the past. I'm looking forward to this , thanks for the welcome. Even if I'm the new " Meat" LOL
