This year I had two feeders, and neither did anything for me. In April 2017, the landowner had about 20 acres of the property thinned and cut a road through it. Then he cleared two acres for his future home site and garden. You can see the results in the photos below. I had a camera on both feeders and saw very few deer, yet I harvested three off of this property. Take a look at these photos and tell me what you think about where I have them.

well….1) its pretty wide open, some deer like a little more cover. 2) the acorn crop was banging this year….they will let corn rot while all the mast is on the ground. Usually every other year. 3) when did you put the big UFO blind up? that might spook them if it was recent to when you did the feeders. Just my opinion. :O)

@Tailhunter would rather kill deer than eat when he's hungry….lets see what he has to say.

The bottom picture. The blind is too close and not blended in.
The middle pic. makes the feeder look like its in a tangled mess.
The top pic actually looks pretty good.

I like my feeders in fields and along ridge lines.

All this talk of deer has made me hungry.

ps ... its really hard to read a piece of property without actually being there. :p

Depending on where the neighbors work took place it could disrupt things. I've had neighbors clear cut on travel routes and screw up most of my season. The next year they seem to be settled back in. This year all the trees that went down in the tornados seemed to change their travel patterns. I had to sneak into the bedding thicket Sat to get a couple. I had not seen a single deer since opening day of rifle in the open woods. And if you are rifle hunting no reason to have the blind that close. I can see it for archery.
