“It at least gives us some peace of mind that, in the event of horrible tragedy, we can begin to put things in place,” Belpre City Schools treasurer Lance Erlwein told WSJ. The Belpre City Schools district in southeastern Ohio – composed of 1,000 students - purchased an active shooter plan last year that includes a $25,000 death benefit per victim and trauma counseling.

It would be poetic if the insurance underwriter came back before writing the policy and told the school district that they would get a cheaper rate if they had armed security personnel in the schools. That would be akin to getting a cheaper rate on fire insurance by having sprinkler systems in the schools. Of course, I realize they are too blinded by their hatred of firearms and the 2A to look at it the same way I just outlined it.
