Detroit Speed Inc welcomes car enthusiasts and the general public to the company’s shop in Mooresville, NC on Friday, October 19, 2018 for a great night of food, fun and cool cars!

At the close of Friday’s Goodguys Rod & Custom Association’s 25th Southeastern Nationals, head on over to the Detroit Speed facility to enjoy a night filled with hundreds of hot rods, trucks and muscle cars. Year after year, the company’s Open House event continues to grow, with nearly 300+ cars and 1,000+ guests. In addition to the car show, tour the Detroit Speed project shop with custom-built muscle cars, talk to the experts in the top-of-the-line suspension production facility, and take pictures with the company’s own race cars. Get there early to enjoy a BBQ dinner plate for $5 with all proceeds being donated to the B.R.A.K.E.S. program.

New and exciting for 2018 is the addition of a FREE concert featuring Country music stars, James Otto and Jason Tucker. Brought to you by JRi Shocks and GearFX Driveline, music begins at 7pm.

Well, I'm a little late with the pictures but here they are, in no certain order. I didn't spend much time there this year, life kinda got in the way ( I may post about that at a later date ).

Some outside pics first, then inside when it started getting dark.

I got there pretty early, about 5;15pm, cars were still rolling in an hour and a half later. First pic is when I was walking in.

The cars parked along the building are current / past customer builds. I heard the 1970 Chevelle in the foreground makes something like 900 ft/lbs of torque, no idea what's under the hood.

This truck was kinda rat rod patina style except for the tailgate. It was all out paint / fluff & buff shiny.

This car is really special. It's a build they have been working on & off with the customer I think since 2005.

2018 Good Guys Street Machine of the Year winner. Check the web links for more info and 400+ pics. I had a hard time getting any pics myself, too many people around the car. Amazing build.

Awesome post!

Awesome pictures. Thank you!

I'd like to see that Riveria when it's completed.

It's hard to believe how clean that shop is unless you see it in person. They must have a nightly clean up crew.

Not sure what the plating treatment is on the trim, had bronze look to it.

I've seen several early Rivieras turned into pretty cool hot rods.

No we don't have a clean up crew. The shop shuts down 10-20 minutes early every day and the guys clean up. The floor gets swept at least once daily and mopped 3 days a week. We also shut down for a couple of days before this event and do nothing but clean.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.
