Dicks to Drop Hunting Gear?

In 10 stores where hunting gear drastically under-performs. They've made plenty of political statements, and this certainly could be as well, but it looks like just a numbers move from the surface.

They haven’t carried anything worth snot in years anyway

Dick's own Field and Stream too. Ton's of stuff I won;t buy from them over there. Their firearms are overpriced anyway. Pistols are $50 to $100 more than at Bill's Gun Rack (I forget what the new name is now) in Kernersville.

Here’s the takeaway from the article that the OP posted the links The Pennsylvania-based retailer earlier reported a third-quarter net sales decline to $1.86 billion from $1.94 billion in the year-earlier period, with adjusted same-store sales down 3.9 percent.
Great business plan they got at Dick’s

Yup. Sound like sales are going limp. I'm sure it's nothing to do with the political stand they have taken. Along the lines of what Cheaper than dirt did.

Yup, stop selling firearms and wonder why hunting gear sales going down.
Stupid is, as stupid does.

A few weeks ago, I had a little time I had to kill (like 20min.) and I was in the vicinity. So, I dropped on to my old store at South Park to see what was going on and if any of my old friends were still there. Anything resembling the Lodge is gone. The old area that had two walls of long guns is now branded team gear. They used to have racks of ammo, gone. Optics, knives, gun accessories, gone. I did find a couple of airsoft guns. Their fishing is reduced as well. This store is the main regional store for this area.

When they swore off the AR I never went back (or to field and stream) but to use my gift card on some socks. I made sure to speak with the manager on my way out.

I don't get why it took Dick's anti-2A stance to get some people to quit shopping there. Their insane prices were always enough to keep me away.

They used to be part of my “rounds” where (when I actually had free time to shop) I would hit Gander, Dicks, Walmart, and some local shops.

Nowadays, I just hit local shops and the Internet. Much happier.

I used to go in there whenever I was dragged out shopping, and bought a few things from the F&S store when they opened one in Asheville. Their pricing was proud, to say the least! But you could find sale bargains and I was willing to pay convenience prices on some things occasionally.

Since their coming out party? Not a cent. Haven't set foot in either store, don't look at their website(s), and toss their mailers in the trash.

I find it satisfyingly funny that two of their primary lines, Nike and Yeti took hits at the same time. Although, I haven't seen numbers.
