For those that have and carry both, is there much difference between these two when carrying?

Weight wise...no noticeable difference to me when holstered up.

Barrel length...same as above.

Grip length....19 makes a bigger bump under my shirt.

Which one do I carry the most? 26 or 27

Why...dang if I know.

The hardest thing to conceal is the grip. With the 19 having a longer grip it will print more. Barrel really doesn't matter unless OWB with a short shirt. For me though, grip width is the biggest factor. I can conceal a CZ 75b better than I ever could conceal a G19. Thinner grip that is more round than square. It holds onto my shirt less and prints less.

Printing isn't really a big deal. Only people who noticed are others that carry.

I’m not really worried about printing for that reason. I currently have a G19 & G43. Carrying the 43 is a breeze and I shoot it well. But I’m not as consistent with a clean draw from concealment due mostly to the thin grip. I can consistently get a clean draw on the 19. I was thinking about getting a26 for when I need something smaller. But I’m not sure if the size difference between the 19 & 26 would even matter.

The difference in not worrying about it and not having to worry about it is nice. With the 19, I didn't care but I knew it printed and printed bad sometimes. With the CZ I don't care, and it does not print nearly as bad. It's nice. And it's all because of the grip difference.

I'll probably make some folks mad, but even though the G19 is nearly the gold standard of modern pistols it was not designed to CC. Neither is the 26. I'd say the 42 then the 43 were the first guns Glock made designed to CC. Until then they stuck firmly to their roots, military and LE. They sell lots of guns to the CC crowd. But they didn't seem to care whether they made a gun that was easy to conceal until the 42. One of the only companies out there that can ignore what the customer wants, give them whatever they want to give them, and be loved for it. lol

Your method of carry probably makes a big difference there too. If I remember correctly you carry OWB. I carry appendix. So I can conceal a Glock 19 and probably 17, for that matter, fairly easily with the right holster and belt.

I have never had a problem concealing 26/19/17

All three are great guns.

The 43 is easy but it lacks the payload of the others.

Great back up gun.

I do now but the G19 printed plenty IWB at 4:00. I never found a huge difference between IWB or OWB with printing.

I carry a 23 & 27, same sized guns, makes bigger holes ;)
If you carry at 3:00-4:00, no real difference.
If carrying @ 5:00 the larger gun will frequently tuck the shirt behind it when standing up, obvious to a mom and kid sitting behind you, say at church.

You got that right lol. I started carrying appendix a little over 4 years ago and was surprised at how well ot concealed. Just for funsies, I carried everything on my inventory for one day each just to see if I could. Including a HK USP40 and a Sig P226. I'm convinced I could conceal an Abrams tank if the need came up lol.

I think what you'll notice the most about the 19 vs 26 AIWB will be where the business end digs into you at and the circumstances in which they do it. For me, there was a huge difference between how a Shield, a PPQ, and a CZ75B interacted with those sensitive areas. None really any worse than the other, just different.

I appendix carry a 19 year round, and never cared wether it prints a little or not. I want what I want, lol. I had a 26 and traded it off a week after I bought it, wasn't a big enough difference in the 19 for me. I definitely wouldn't get a 26 if I already had a 43. Just my 2 pennies.

What’s your edc now @draco88?

I started out with a G19 and now I have a G26 . I carry it everywhere. I think it's a little bit more concealable for me .

I find the G19 easier to carry than the G26 because the G26 is chunky but with less side surface area. The G19 has more surface area that your body is in contact with and this, in my experience, keeps it more stable while moving.

And you are the forum connoisseur of the G19.

I perfer the 19 over the 26, it’s just too chunky, and if you put mag extensions on it you may as well just carry a 19. I apendix carry either a 43 or a 19. I’ve owned a couple of 26s and a 27 but never was a big fan of them.

Have both, have carried both.

I'm mostly AIWB and the 26 doesn't push into my leg when I sit in the car and the 19 does. In the winter I do the 26 with the 19 mags with an x-grip adapter on it (and an extra rubber spacer to keep the xgrip adapter tight so I don't pinch my finger), and in the summer it's the regular 10 rounders. I'm not that big, the 19 (or 19 mags) print a lot on me in just a t-shirt.

The 26 also lets me use the 'urban carry' pouch holster or an ankle holster. The 19 won't work for me in either of those carry methods.

19 is easier to fight with, no doubt about it. if I could get away with it and not print, I would carry the 19. Concealed means concealed to me, I do not want to print.

Amazing the difference in people.

I find the 26/27 to be excellent shooters.

And very accurate.

For me, I shot my G19 well when I shot it a lot. And only shot my Glock. My problems started when I discovered good SAO triggers. It was all over then. Just couldn't go back.

What holster are you using for that PCR, Draco?
I'm gonna answer you in two parts...part one will be my summer AIWB rig since the majority of the thread has centered around AIWB and part two will be my winter OWB rig.

AIWB... I use this one:
https://tuckergunleather.com/cover-up-plus-holster/

It's a bit expensive and I probably would never have bought it for myself. But, it was a gift to me, so I used it. And liked it.
Smooth outside is easy on the skin, the belt clip is adjustable for both height and cant, adjustable retention, full length sweat shield, the holster itself is about as minimalist as it gets, and the holster mouth is reinforced so it stays open during reholster (even though I personally remove the holster and put it back after reholstering).
Drawbacks are the screw setting cant will work loose periodically. Blue loctite will probably take care of that, but Ive just never done it. Keep an allen in my truck ashtray and one in the nightstand.
The plastic belt clips are another point of failure. I broke one last year taking the holster out of my pants to reholster the gun. Bought a three pack of replacements online for about 7-8 bucks.
Another drawback is the price for what it is. But, it has been THE most comfortable holster I have ever put on AIWB. Of course, ymmv.
This one was built for a P01...then I started jamming Cajun goodies in both P01s and switched to carrying the PCR. I just tightened down on the retention screws real good and it's worked fine.

Winter OWB rig....like @SPST it's @chiefjason leather all day. No substitutes. The Mrs does not like IWB at all, so she carries hers in his leather everyday. At least until he finishes her G26 holster *cough cough* lol. Then she'll carry the 26 *barf* :D

Hope I gave you what you needed

I have both a 19 and 26. Carry the 19 owb in the coolor months with coat cover. Recently picked up a 26 in hopes of carying year round owb but I think There is only a slim chance this with out excess printing. Interested in reading of carry methods and holsters used to carry your 26.

Tucker Gun Leather is an awesome product with excellent customer service as well. Nice rig.

Thanks. That one was a birthday present from my nephew, but when I flirted with carrying striker guns for a while, I did order one for my PPQ, too.
I really like them a lot.

If you already have a 19 and 43 then I don’t think there is too much to gain by getting a 26.

I have both a 19 and 26. The 26 conceals better but it’s not a night and day difference. A 19 with the right holster conceals nearly as well.

I carry the 26 because it does conceal a bit better especially when I am going out with the kids and it’s one less thing to worry about. It’s less likely to catch my shirt when I need to pick up something they dropped and I’d rather not have some other parent freak out over me wanting to keep my family safe.

The 19 stays home with a light attached as the house gun. It comes out every once in a while when I want a little extra to carry and the entire family is together.
