Dirt noodles

[Deplorable me]

Was watching a yt video which showed two or three different tractors with some sort of digger on the back and some sort of extruder which was making strips of dirt kinda like noodles. What the heck is going on???

Are you sure it was a tractor and not livestock? They useta pull plows with beasts of burden.

I'm imagining you saw some sort of scalping plow. They cut just below the surface and then flip the 'scalped' portion of dirt over. I suppose it could look somewhat like a long noodle.
