Dixie Gun and Knife Show- August 3-4th. (Raleigh)

You’re planning to wheel all those into a gun show??????

Wouldn’t it make sense to invest in a table?
I guess it would but I just thought of going to the show while reading about it in this thread. I've never been up there to the Dixie show... Maybe I should just get a table at the next Concord event? So I need an FFL or C&R license to sell from a table?

According to my experience, the three big NC shows are the two Dixie's (Raleigh and Charlotte) and Greensboro.

I don't believe you need a license to sell your personal firearms as long as you comply with the usual laws. Perhaps @MacEntyre can share his recent experience selling rifles at a show in Winston Salem.

No license needed... an individual can rent a table and make private sales. Just need to make sure the buyer is a resident of NC, and over 18 for long guns... add in possession of a current pistol purchase permit or a current concealed carry permit, for handguns.

Watch out for Narcs... I've encountered people before, trying to buy a pistol without a permit, or making a straw purchase... I didn't laugh in their face, but they were clearly working for law enforcement, trying to trick me into breaking the law. One of 'em I have seen around town since.

How is this one in size and quality compared to Greensboro?

It is actually bigger than Greensboro when filled to capacity. Historically, Greensboro's quality has been a bit better than this show's, but that difference has lessened in recent years as Greensboro has dropped off some. Greensboro still has vendors you won't see at any other NC show, but not like it used to be.

If you have the time, it is probably worth your drive, as shows go.

I'd be driving over from Greensboro.

I recall from the last show, the man who has all the reloading supplies on the end of the building
was not there, he has a terminal illness.

I just got back... it was an odd show....I didn't buy a thing.

I didn't see the normal bulk ammo dealers, nor much of anything that really interested me. I did see sub $400 AR's for sale without a whole lot of action.

Plenty of people, just not that much of interest to me at least. Still, any gun show is worth wandering around.

Not enough essential oils, purses and jerky? Tell me at least the pickle guy was there, or the cheese guy. (full disclosure, I did buy some of that smoked gouda.... gun show cheese man, you gotta try it)

I always thought the ammo guys have a rough time of it. Heavy product, have to keep lots of choices at the table, and prices that can't compete with Outdoor Limited who even with tax and shipping ends up costing less than hauling it home from the show.

All said, I would still rather be walking around the show than doing chores at home. :(

I hear you... yes you're right.

Now I'm doing chores at home

The horseradish pickles are worth the trip.

Same, although I almost snagged a used Hi-Point .45 for $80 at the Picasso Pawn booth!
