Dixie Gun & Knife Show - Charlotte This Sat (9th) & Sun. (10th)

Low crowd. Proof of that is I stopped by and talked to @knifeman32 on the way in, and on the way out!!
Also got to chat with @cubrock for a minute, and stopped by @HMP's table to ask where my Die Hard shirt was. :p

Probably missed @Prosecutor as I was leaving. :(
Odd I couldn't get anywhere near knifemans tables. But I agree, low turnout in vendors and buyers.

Jarek had m2.0 compacts for a good price think it was $380. Found a sub2k for 360 which seemed fair and a very nice slab sided colt ar for $2k. I bought none of them.
Saw some buffalo bore 45+p for $24. That seemed fair.

Thinking about headed down tomorrow... I don't need anything... but that has never stopped me from buying before ;)

Over the span of the day, the crowd was actually pretty decent. It was pretty sparse until late morning, then we had a pretty steady stream of people for most of the rest of the day. All things considered, I was pretty happy.

It got busy for us right as @BigWaylon was leaving. Cut my conversation with him short, but we'll pick back up next time. Got to hang with @Prosecutor and his precious daughter for a while. @HMP is just down the way from us, but I didn't get to talk with him much. Hopefully he and we are so busy tomorrow that we don't get to talk much. :)

I picked up a neat FN Hi Power this morning that will likely be the queen of the show for me. 2003-ish import with the SFS safety kit factory installed. My first one with an SFS, so I look forward to seeing how it shoots. Plus, it is my only non-Browning marked Hi Power, which is neat, too. Not too many non-Browning guns have come into the country, relatively speaking. I find them cool, but most of the Hi Power buying public wants Browning marked ones. Made this one a bit cheaper for weird guys like me.

The roads were clear coming and going. People shouldn't have any trouble getting in and out tomorrow, but I would recommend watching for icy patches if you come first thing in the morning. Gonna be a cold one tonight.

Had one hour of awesomeness, the rest of the time was slow.
Awesome meeting new folks from here, awesome seeing folks I already knew, like Cub and Jerek.
Leaving the house in an hour to go back down and hoping for a good day and meeting new, wonderful people.

Also, I think I got a crush. Girl got a shirt from me and started hitting me up instantly online.

I went yesterday with a couple of friends. I was pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of vendors. The crowd around noon was large but not unbearable to walk around without bumping in to everyone. The aisles were spaced out, so traffic could keep moving if someone stopped to talk. Again, I was impressed with this show. Hats off to the the Dixie show organizers!

Sorry, I didn't stop and talk to anyone. I saw Jerek but he was way too busy at the time. Plus being with a couple of friends i didn't want to loiter too much.

I had a few minor items I was looking for related to my AR build. But I actually found an SB Tactical SB-PDW brace at a very reasonable price and made the purchase. These appear to be hard to find right now and the prices have typically been high. Made the trip that much better.

Good luck to all you vendors out there today!!

I saw Jerek but he was way too busy at the time.

Ya..the Backwoods Bang Shop table is like a celebrity book signing or something...can't even say "hello" because of the crowd / line of gun buyers. Ha. Saw a cute new baby hanging around there too.

I actually got to talk with Jerek for a few minutes today.
The baby is cute as all of they are, she and her big brother have very nice parents.
