Dixie Gun Show Raleigh January 18-19

Got there just before 11 and left 10 minutes later. Too crowded, the line to get in was 100+ long. Don’t really need a thing. I hate crowds.
Bring a .22 or pellet gun and beat the line at the firearm entrance on the right :)

Crowded, yes, but not bad. Big line took 5 min to pass through. Nothing extraordinary that I saw , although I was tempted on a 3" S&W 36 for under 4 bills (and where DID Prosecutor get to anyway?) .

Mostly very similar to the last show. The $385 AR dealer was there, and things seemed to be selling. Good to see all the peeps out being American . The stun gun sound effects were noted too, just in case anyone was wondering.

I didn't see Mr Rudder there, though I'm usually not the most observant person when at a show, other than noting what's on the tables.
Ditto what @JohnFreeman said. I left empty-handed, as usual. Seems like anything that's priced right is junk, and if it's not junk it's overpriced. Just my opinion.

I went, mainly to meet up with two people to exchange brass. I got there at opening time and the line was longer than I have seen in a while. Didn’t really need anything, I did buy one box of primers, just because I was there. Dropped a $20 in the GRNC jar. Walked around with @Bullseye Baldee for a while, then left. Crowd wasn’t too bad, but the line was still long when I left. Parking lot was crowded, too. Oh, I did see ammo cans for under $10.

Here now.... Ruger 57's and FN side by side.
I think I like the FN better.

Vendors full house, not too crowded at 10AM
ammo and reloading supplies.

Picasso pawn has nice selection.
Another vendor nice 81BB pistols.

Had nice talk with Mr. Drake the safe builder.
I didn't get there till about 10. Sorry I missed you.

I saw him Mister Rudder there. He was nice enough to give me some 38 Smith & Wesson brass for absolutely free. What a nice guy!

I might drop over tomorrow as a distraction. I don't need anything but, I've not been in a while and may run in to some friends.

Great gun show today! Haven't seen one this crowded since Obama. Definite asses and elbows. No price gouging surprisingly! Huge numbers of cheap ARs, and tons of reasonable prices on just about everything. Awesome vibe overall. Picked up a few needed goodies to finish current builds, and some ammo I can't get so easily elsewhere.

To be honest I think this was a great show, and I'm stoked there were so many people there. At least for the stuff that I specifically wanted to find, I actually got some pretty great deals.

I kind of wish I bought the Remington 760 Woodmaster in .30-06 that I found for $380, lol. Nice leather case, great grain on the walnut, and had a really nice sling with an artful buck on it. I didn't like the scope or rings on it, but those can easily be changed out. I don't have any .30-06 guns though, and I'm the type who prefers to consolidate calibers, so I passed. I was glad to see someone who appreciated it, bought it, though. :)

I saw a young man carrying one of those to the static line late today at Range 37 PSR.

I actually did a double-take and almost stopped to compliment him on such a cool rifle.

I wonder if that was the buyer.
It's possible! It was right at the end of the show. I got to the show at 10:30 and didn't leave until 4:57, lol. I saw the guy walking out with it at the same time. But if y'all were shooting there after 5:00, it's certainly possible!

Reactions: Me.
You don't even have to have a weapon. The last two times I went I used that door gunless.
Hi, they were not letting anyone inside at 9AM unless you had a firearm, told us we have to use the main entrance.

There was a cheer leading event going on today plus a car themed event.

They’ll stop you at the gate to verify it’s unloaded. Buy your ticket and enter thru the door that has little or no line (to the right of the main entrance as you face the building...and just left of the secondary ticket booth). There, they’ll inspect and zip tie the gun and run you thru a metal detector.

Arrived at 11:30 no line at main entrance at all. Picked up a few reloading supplies but resisted temptation on everything else. Moderately busy, but no so much that you couldn't move through it as quickly as you wanted with a polite excuse me or two...

The woman at the Census 2020 table wanted me to sign up for a job. Must be my good looks. ;)
She said Wake County workers get $19.25 per hour and mileage.
