DIY gas diverting CH

Did the RTV mod for all the CHs on my rifles, but decided try a couple more things to tame the gas.

Radian Raptor LT handle.

Drilled a gas vent port next to the latch..





Also cut a channel on the underside of the CH. I saw one dude use rubber o-ring material for this, but I figure a bead of RTV will accomplish the same thing.



Put everything back together and letting it cure. Gonna take it to the range on Monday and see how much difference it makes.

Nice! I think it’s SilencerCo makes one with the horseshoe notch with a o ring. But they are also over $100. Be interested in seeing your results.

Curious about that notch. Is it outside the ledge on the upper that the CH sits on to give a little more seal?

Just got back from the range….

Huge difference…way less gas to the face.👍
