Diy high idle switch for 6.0 power stroke

Any of you guys/ gals with a Cummins I can turn the pto function on in the ecm and you can use your cruise buttons for high idle

Not a diesel guy, what is the purpose of this?

That's a neat function. I've driven a couple rental street washing trucks that worked that way, instead of having an aux motor for the sprayers. Useful when hand hosing or watering sod.

So they dont have a slightly higher idle when cold like (most/many/all?) gasoline powered cars?
Interesting.

well, to the OP, thanks for the link and information!

The high idle was initially used to prevent wet stacking. I have don't it on every diesel I've ever owned. When I was in the hvac business owner I would idlenit probably 7 hours a day. I have it on my 6.7 ford and have a potentiometer so I can adjust the idea speed. From idle to 2200 rmp if ever needed.
