What programs have you ran?
I hadn’t heard of 5-3-1 so searched it. Here is Alan Thrall’s take. He is a Starting Strength disciple just for transparency. Any thoughts on his take?
I think Starting Strength is great for people that don't really know their way around a bar. It really starts you light and helps reinforce proper form with the lifts. 5/3/1 is also for beginners because of the many programs inside of it. You can't go wrong with either.
Just make sure to follow any program as written untill u really understand the concept.....just remember a bad plan that you believe in in is better then a good plan you don't. If you need any help please PM me and I'll do what I can. I've been lifting for 15+yrs and have done stupid crap and good stuffNice. I’ll take a look but going to give 5x5 a go for something i just need to put a ton of thought into. It’s pretty brainless....

Kris is a fawking madman. I also like to follow Chris Duffin and Mark BellKris Gethin's approach and have ran a few of his routines..
His take makes perfect sense: if 5/3/1 is working for you, keep on with it. If it isn't, then you may need more volume on the main lifts.I hadn’t heard of 5-3-1 so searched it. Here is Alan Thrall’s take. He is a Starting Strength disciple just for transparency. Any thoughts on his take?
