Bump.

My wife tested positive today. She's a 46 year old RN in surgical services at the local hospital.
Hope she kicks its butt.

I personally know 5 people who have tested positive, 2 of them in their 80's, none have gotten sick.

I work critical care transport for a hospital. We have transported over 1,000 covid patients. I have seen covid patients with no medical problems go on ventilators and covid patients with hypertension and diabetes up walking to the stretcher. One of our paramedics and one nurse have gotten it. The nurse was kept in the hospital for about two weeks. I transported a 26 year old weight-lifter with covid getting ready to go on vent with no prior medical problems. Its the worst stuff I've seen. We are well protected wearing caprs and they have outfitted three of our ambulances to negative pressure units to help protect us. WE transporr patients within 150 miles of where I work.

May God bless and keep you. Thanks for all you do!

Prayers that your wife will have a speedy recovery with no complications.
Keep us posted.

Sorry to hear that. I hope she has no lasting effects. I'll put her and y'all on the "good thoughts" list.

My best friend in FL has/had it and is feeling pretty tired, but seems to be over the worst, which made her feel crappy for about 2-3 weeks. Time will tell how she fares as she goes on. She's a few years older than your wife, with several health issues.

One of our elderly and overweight shooters got it. Spent 3 days in hospital on O2 and they released him. Said it was just like having the regular flu. It is very evident that it (Covid 19) affects different people differently.

So there is no doubt when someone gets sick that it's the corona? Maybe it's not the corona and that's why it affects different people differently? I still don;t personally know anyone that has gotten sick. I do know people that tested positive. My sister tested positive. She did her best to cash in on that of course. It's hard to say if the numbers we are seeing are not just normal sickness numbers. Are more people actually getting sick now? I mean Covid should cause an additional number of illnesses in hospitals than what it usual. I'm assuming that is the case?

Dang, man. Best of luck to you both, and let us know how she does!

My sis-in-law, her husband, and 3 of 4 of their kids had it (they are near Hickory). Her husband's grandparents both had it (also Hickory). My nephew's wife had it (Dallas). I know a handful of docs and nurses who had it.

She has very mild symptoms. For the last two days, she was fatigued, hurt around her back and lower ribs (actually described it like a mild sunburn), runny nose, and finally yesterday, a fever. It only got to 100.2, but that's what made her decide to get tested.

I'm sure spending 14 hours on her feet at work Monday hasn't helped her condition.

And thanks!

Thanks for the info. I have never been tested, but I wonder if I had a mild version: I had general malaise/fatigue, just felt run down, but not cough/fever. I am not so curious that I am getting any testing, though. If I had fever I would get tested, too.

For me, if I want to return to work after a 5 day "quarantine," I have to present them with negative test results. If I don't, I'm not allowed back until after 14 days, and then only if I have no symptoms.

We just got over it at least i think we are over it.

My sister was transported to NE medical center Monday night with what they are calling a "secondary invasion' where it comes again in a viscous way. It has attacked her heart, lungs' and GI track.

Whatever it is its a nasty virus and has some bad effects on some individuals.

Sounds like the Cytokine Storm that you rarely hear about.

Hope she does OK.

In other words, just like the flu. Most of the time, the worst cases have other medical problems. But for some reason, some otherwise healthy people get it hard.
I've never had the flu even when I am in a house full of family with the flu. Had pneumonia once. But that was because I was slow to get to the doctor for bronchitis.
[I did have Haemophilus influenzae, a bacterial infection, once. My wife actually ran the diagnostic test for that. Spit in a cup. She took it to the lab.]

Hoping your wife comes thru this with flying colors.
Shes young and knows what to do.
You stay healthy and listen to what she tells you.

I take vitamin C packs and stay away from everybody.
I wash my hands so much my Moma would be so proud.

The group I work in of 9, 4 have gotten positive results and have come thru just fine.
Of the 10,000 on site there are 430 +/- cases and I only know of 1 death.

kcult, I hope she does not get any worse and gets better quickly.

There have been 15 members of my wife's family that have been positive, that we know of. 4 members were over 70, 1 had walking pneumonia, 1 diabetic and overweight had flu like symptoms, 2 no symptoms at all. None were hospitalized. The remaining members either had no symptoms or at most runny nose and cold like symptoms.

I have a cousin that is positive and has not been sick.

neighbor's son, 29, tested positive.
has loss of taste, smell, but otherwise fine.
lives in Charlotte. no underlying conditions.

Buddy of mine about 10 years older than me (he's 50-ish), caught the Rona about 3 weeks ago, and was hospitalized.

He passed away from it Monday. :(

Bigger guy...overweight...and I believe he has some other issues as well.

@kcult , tell Dawn that we're pulling for to shake this thing off and get back to keeping you in line.

One of our coworkers at my Home Depot had it in early March. Full recovery. She is a cancer survivor three times so she was at risk.

I girl I know mid 30s with cancer tested positive before surgery (no symptoms) she decided to go to another testing site there she tested negative so who knows

Hoping for the best for y'all, @kcult. Let me know if I can help.

Former coworker contracted it; younger, athletic fella, knocked him on his ass and hasn't got his sense of taste or smell back a month later.

@charliesgrave you noticed anything at your work in regards to blood type? I've read a few preliminary studies and was just curious about anecdotal stuff.

Well my Dad had it for several weeks prior to his death. Is that what caused his passing, I don't believe so. He was already on the slide down, this just accelerated the slide in my opinion. I'm sure the death certificate will indicate covid. He had congestive heart issues so this just sped it up.
