i need to break in a new barrel....would rather not do it with $1.25/round Match ammo!

Dies are on the way, but, dangit I want to get to shooting this today! More of a rant than an actual question I suppose.
 
Got it at Wal-Mart here, also at dicks and gander mountain (used to anyway).
 
You might be able to find left over 140gr or 120gr amax ammo on the cheap. Wish I could recall where I saw the 120gr amax for $16 a box... Will do a search and see what I can come up with.
 
If you wanted cheap, that's the wrong round ;)

I only want cheap for the break in and rough sighting. I have 100 rounds of Hornady Match on the shelf and components on the way to roll my own.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you sight in with markedly different ammo won't you just have to refine it all over again for the usual load?

Picked up a 50 round box of Hornady American Gunner 140gr at the gun show last weekend. Price for this loaded ammo was only $0.15/rd more than empty brass. I think I paid $45.

Got it out to the range today and it performed just about as good as the Hornady ELD Match.
