ok so I moved into a neighborhood and bagging all the poop from my back yard is tiresome but doable. There is also a patch at the back that doesn't get mowed apparently, that takes a few for the team. But when she goes in my yard i bag it then trash can stinks. Does anyone have an idea of disposal methods. Best I have done so far is designated a trash can in the garage where the poop goes but I'm not sure this is going to last. All Ideas welcome.

Dedicated trash can with sawdust should take care of it.

We have a metal bucket with a lid lined with a kitchen trash bag by our fire pit. We mix the ashes with the poop and toss it in with the garbage every week or so. Just dont let it get too heavy! Usually be toss it in the garbage on trash day or the day before.

I toss the tied up plastic bags of poop behind the shrubs at my mom's house. Then toss them into the trash on pick up day. You can't see them and I haven't noticed any odors from them being outside either. If I put it straight in the trash can in the garage, it just cooks in there for a week and smells awful.

I have one of those dog poop claw things that I pick up the poop with. My back yard is lined with Leyland cypress trees. I toss the poop under the ones that seem to be needing a little boost. I also did that with my peach trees at the beginning of the year, and they really took off.

Other than that, I second the hole in the ground idea.

I put it in a bag when I picking it up then double bag it before tossing it in the trash can. Our trash is picked up twice a week and I’ve never had an issue with the trash can smelling too bad.

a small dedicated can works wonders like one said line it with a bag, or you could feed your dog raw then it won't stink like normal kibble eating dogs poop does, a good grade dog food will have less poop as it will be used more, so my daughter says and she knows her stuff would've gone for the pun but didn't lol and if all else fails the hole is a good idea if you got a post hole digger dig you a hole say a foot or close that should hold a weeks worth easy then cover at end of week, then you don't
    gotta fool with bags

If hole in ground, add a little powdered or pelletized lime on top when you toss it in.

1 - I just dug a "two shovel" hole when I was in Houston and dropped them in there. We had two Dachshunds, small turkeys, it worked fine. Move the hole when it's full and add dirt when it sinks.

2 - Get a smaller dog, small piles...

3 - Walk your dog and drop the bags in another place, nextdoor?

4 - I take it you never thought of this when you moved from the county to the Burbs?

    ;)

    *ahem*

You just "moved into a neighborhood".

    This implies you have neighbors.

    With yards of their own.

Just sayin'...do what you will with this information.

I like small dogs. Makes this a non-issue. They just head into the treed area of my yard and do what they will. I have never scooped up their poop. Once a year throw a little mulch down. Or spread the fallen leaves back there. Get a big dog, deal with big poop.

Tying those dedicated poop bags makes a big difference. I dont notice the smell over rest of garbage smell. Works much better than a tied shopping bag.

I bury at a shovel depth (25 lb dog) when at my parents'.

Dog feces can also carry parasites.

Perhaps the dog needs more fiber in the diet?:)

Get you a pack of those small paper lunch sacks and a Bic lighter. Put the doodie in the bag, light the bag, toss it on the neighbor's front porch and yell, "FIRE!!! FIRE!!!!".

Neighbor will open the door and attempt to stomp the fire out.

    The old "flaming bag-o-sh*t" trick.

When I was a kid we let our dog do his thing in the backyard, don't know why people walk their dog on my front lawn, let it pee and poop.
They don't live on my street, asked one lady why don't you let him use your yard, she says ''because I live there'!o_O

Mom used to pay one of my brothers a nickle a pile to pick up all the dog cr*p in our yard from a neighbor's dog and deliver it to the guy's front porch.

Considering that brother was born in 1951, that was a handsome reward!
