Dope cards

I'm still looking for a dope card setup. I want something that attaches to the gun, and something better than just a stick on label. But something that doesn't cost $40+ per gun. I've used the Impact Data cards and velcro to the gun for a good while now. But cleaning the guns always gets cleaner on the cards and eventually they get smeared. I like some of the ones that attach to the pic rail and have flexible arms that can fold to the side of the gun, out of the way, when not in use. With a clear protective sleeve that lets you slide cards in and out. But they run in the $40-60 range and that gets expensive fast when you have a good number of guns to do. Was wondering if anyone has found a setup similar to what I describe at a more reasonable price point.

Anything that attaches to your rifle is gonna get broke, lost or otherwise before it's life is over. What type of dope do you need and where will you need to use it?

I've got a few of the ones mounted in the scope cap. My old eyes have trouble now seeing the dope in the cap. so those are a no go.

The Hawk Hill Is $119 each. Multiply that by say 20 guns and you're at $2,380. No thanks.

Wrist coaches work well. But then I have to keep up with a wrist coach for each gun. I want something that can attach to the gun/is always with the gun.

The HH moves between guns. It mounts to any 1913 rail. You’d only need one.

But then the hassle of moving it around. And I'm sure I would forget and go to the range and the HH would still be mounted on a gun in the safe. Enough stuff to remember as it is. I've looked at the Sidewinder, the Xring and the Yow-Tech. I think I may try that Yow-Tech.

A buddy of mine has the YT and it worked ok for a bit until the 3d printed clip broke.

I use one of these and write my DOPE on my stock, never lost my dope sheet,



If your dope is in mil, it only 10 number is 100 yard increments. not hard to remember.

I can't help with a dope card idea, but I used to have the above problem with heading to the range and leaving things behind at home. My solution to that was to get a small rubbermaid bin and I keep my Labradar, spotting scope, bags, rest, targets, tape and staples in it. Now when I head to the range I have to grab the bin and my rifle and whatever I loaded up for the day. You could just keep this dope card holder thing in the bin.

Laminate a business card size dope card, punch a hole in it and attach it to something on the gun (scope?). FedUps store and office depot can laminate and punch.

Sharpie on the stock, or a laminated index card taped onto the stock.

For the cheapskates among us. 😆 Not perfect but it might give you some ideas. Laminate machines can be had for under $20 if you want to get fancy.
