My LGS called me up a few weeks ago to talk to this guy. I originally tried to get out of it but he kept telling me I had to do this. Talked to the guy for a while, decided to give it a shot. I mean, who doesn't want a NY reload for Desert Eagles?

Since this is my first real shoulder rig I mocked it up completely with scrap leather. made some mistakes that I fixed in the finished product.

The second mocked up side. The first one ended up flat side out, swapped the pattern for this one.

Love it. Was that the guy who also wanted to carry something like 11 magazines?

Love it! Makes me think of a rig Arnold would wear in an 80's or 90's action flick!

Different guy. Lol. And not one of mine either. Thankfully.

Considering my name is "Smith" I reckon I'm gonna have to get one of these some day.

There's a guy, i forget his name that hangs out at Moss Pawn w/Iraqvet8888 & crew that wears a set of these in an all Shark rig. Not just the holsters but straps & all in black Shark.

Sweet! I surely didn't charge enough for shark. Now to make me a shoulder rig for the CZ.

Does he pop himself on the chin when he draws?

Well, I didn't. Not that it was a fast presentation or easy. But it was doable. Left handed was tougher for me. But I hate anything with my left hand.

When you get it worked out for the PCR let me know. Do you think you could make one for a suppressed ruger 22/45 mk IV? I have wanted a way to carry it in the woods and I think a shoulder rig would be the best way.

That looks great! Let me know when you get around to putting together one for the CZ's. I'll have to buy another gun, but it'll be worth it!

So how hard was it to get a needle through that stacked leather on the holsters?

This is the first time I've had to use a drill bit to make the holes. I was afraid my awl would walk out the side of the welt. So I used a small bit, then went back and ran the awl through the hole from the top so the thread would lay flat. The stitching was not that bad though.

When it all hits the fan, I'll be behind you all the way! :D

That's awesome!! Very nice work!

I know a old guy (85+) that has to have a walker to get around and carry's a gold plated 44 mag desert eagle in a shoulder rig. Lol

Lol you know thats a guy after my own heart, That will be me in 25-30 years....dam Im getting old, but still have my hair

That's a badass rig...

Reminds me of the rig Bruce Willis wore in Last Man Standing.

Man, that is beautiful work. Do you mind letting us know about how many hours you have in it?

I don't really keep up with it. A lot of times I'm doing 2-6 things at a time and combining the processes. For this one, I knew I would be in it for a good bit of time and material. I kind of took it for kicks. Ended up not spending as much on materials as I thought so that was a bonus. Between making up a full dummy rig, then breaking 2 straps from dry leather, plus the general patterning and mental work to figure things out. It's probably best I don't keep track. I still feel like I did OK on it though.

I have a buddy that tells me I should be making at least $20 and hour for everything I do. Yeah, but I actually want to sell stuff. lol But the prices some yahoos out there are charging and what they are delivering maybe I should reconsider. On the plus side it gets quicker the more you do it.

Beauitful work. Skilled labor is worth more than $20/hr in a lot of industries.

Having seen this rig in person when I was there a couole weeks ago, the pics can not do it justice. Good job, Chief! That's why you're my go-to "holster guy".

My real job certainly is. But breaking into a market and establishing yourself in it is a different thing altogether. Particularly when there is no real set pricing. For me, it's just hard to track time when I'm bouncing from thing to thing. For example, it takes about an hour to mold a holster. Only about 10 minutes of that is actually doing something. The rest is waiting on it to case then to dry. So I tend to set a price I'm happy with and go for it.

I'm curious how much just the leather weighs

I can't say for sure, but it wasn't that bad. Not as bad as I thought it would be. And I used heavier weight straps than I would for most guns too. Plus the welt was 5 layers of leather counting the doubled over holster.

Just looks like many a cow gave its life for that rig, lol...
