if a pedestrian is crossing a roadway where there is no intersection or crosswalk, the responsibility is on the pedestrian. CVC 21954(a) reads, “Every pedestrian upon a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway so near as to constitute an immediate hazard.”

In other words, get out of the way or squished

I met a guy once who used to live in NYC. His daily commute took him through a really rough neighborhood that had a traffic pinch point coming off bridge. Smash and grabs on cars stuck in traffic were a common occurrence there.

He carried two inert hand grenades in his car. When his car was approached, he rolled down the window enough to throw one of the grenades at the feet of the thugs. He said it was hilarious watching them scatter. He told me it took them only a couple times before word got out and everyone left his vehicle alone.

Wonder how protesters blocking traffic would react?

For fans of Counting Cars, I wonder if Counts Kustoms would be willing to make one fo these

Lets see them jump on your care then

Funny:

D'Atra Jackson, one of the protest organizers said. "We're showing symbolically what we're up against."

Jackson is with Durham Beyond Policing, a group that says it believes in disinvesting in police, but putting more resources in community.

"It was purposefully done so (the pickup driver) could break through us and divide us," Jackson said. "And it was also some form of entertainment not giving any care to the human beings who were in the street."
.
.
.
Though Jackson said her group purposefully chose not to seek a permit to protest legally, she questioned why police didn't intervene when the incident with the truck happened.

Then she goes on to say:

"The laws are subjective laws. They are not created for actual morals. Laws are created for what's convenient," Jackson explained.

Like, it's "convenient" that the police, whom she advocates "disinvesting", should intervene in this instance only, but not while they're actively breaking several laws themselves?

Two words: Grow up.

Looks cool, but wouldnt hire that guy for it.

Better conditions for prisoners? At least they are investing in their children's futures.

I sincerely hope at least several of them have close family murdered. Then they can decide whose rights were more important.
