So a while back I was drinking and surfing and ended up buying a Crickett aluminum rifle chassis. Problem was, I don't own a Crickett rifle, just a pistol.

Since the buffer tube attachment was annoying in a pistol config, better get a rifle then. This is the result.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how well I can shoot this. The stock trigger is rather light already. Scope is my old reliable Bushnell 3-9.

I am a little miffed Keystone not only don't include a grub screw for the stock but don't even tell you what size it is. I had to email them and wait for a reply to order the right size.

Friends don’t let friends drink and surf!

Thats pretty neat; we have a cricket that is passed around the family as need dictates (typically for a year or less at a time) and I didn’t even know an aluminum frame existed!

So, what size is the screw? (Assuming it can be found in lost well stocked hardware store fastener sections?

8-32x3/16 half dog socket set screw.

I've got some arriving Monday.

Half Dog? What are you smoking to come up with that name for a fastener? I've been turning a wrench on all sorts of vehicles and industrial equipment for 41 years and ain't never heard tell of such a thang.
So I look it up... "Oh, THAT'S what those are called."
I'm done for the day, learned something new already.

Not my name mate, I had to look it up to lol

I love playing around with wacky stuff like this, just to see if I can make it work. Spent one summer developing brass cased pumpkin ball loads for .410 H&R with a friend, just to see how accurate we could get ‘em. Cheap fun!

It was either this or cut the buffer tube part off the receiver and that would have meant painting, so I assembled this instead lol

Has to look up pumpkin ball, neat! I think this is going to be a cheap gun to try and shoot a different way for me. Usually I'm a "lots of rounds on target", almost all my shooting is on steel (when I hit it) and not overly fussy about groups and precision. If I can smack an 8" torso gong at a brisk clip and appropriate range I'm usually fine.

Single shots are a nice way to make me slow down and focus on the fundamentals of the process. Plus this will be cheap as heck to shoot.
