Drywall Repair

What I learned from my dearly departed stepfather was ez sand joint compound.
Add water and mix the mud.
Only mix what you can apply in in 60 minutes.
Big flat trowel.
Sand it smooth.
We did this after removing all the decades old wall paper. Looked much better when finished.
Cheaper than paneling too.

you can also once you've got a thin layer to stay on without bubbling you can do what's called a knockdown on the wall according to what brush you use there are some really nice looking knockdowns that can be done and those you don't have to paint you can mix paint in mixture before applying it
 
lol used to make good money doing those on ceilings and such. Had one man who'd put the 2 inch styrofoam on walls and couldn't figure what to do over it. I suggested doing a knockdown on the walls and his wife and him
loved it
 
Just for a update, the painter did one small section of wall and it looks pretty good for the first pass. He is going to wait until the last to do this room so we will see and keep you posted.
