Can somebody tell me how to download that program?

You can also make DuckDuckGo your default search engine.

for example in iOS go under Settings > Safari > Search Engine and select DuckDuckGo

OK, I downloaded it and it shows up as an extension in Chrome. Now what? It looks like I'm still using Chrome. I also can't figure out how to make it my default search engine in Windows 7.

I'm so damn stoopid.

Here’s what I want explained: I do a search on some obscure term with only DDG, and the next time I open Youtube there’s a “recommended” video on that subject. The Google is getting it somewhere

I searched a term refered to a racial slurr and rigging. I was wondering how it would influence my utube feed and it didn't change it one bit. I guess they are selective on what they want to push!

I downloaded an app from App Store. It’s all I use now.

If anonymity is important along with search results quality then i would recommend start page

Don't use that extension, just follow this guide.

Using the DDG app for browsing instead of Safari shows you just what has been tracking you. Here’s what CFF is rated on DDG:

Been ddg user for past month on my phone. Love it.

I still use Chrome only when ddg doesn't give results I'm looking for. That happens maybe once a week. All my gun hobby is now done via ddg.

Might want to shrug off Mozilla Firefox as well.

Time to swtich again - and to think I left chrome a few years back for similar reasons. Going to give Brave a shot. It is built on Chromium (the open source foundation of google chrome) so it should work wit your existing extensions and websites should work as well.

Try Dissenter. Built off Brave, but more right than neutral.

I'll try this as well. I've noticed more and more sites ignore Firefox due to dropping market share. Being built on Chromium helps a lot with compatibility issues. Recent versions of MS Edge (when they changed the logo) are also built on this but instead of Google spying on you its Microsoft.

I'm giving Dissenter a shot on one of my machines.

I'm not seeing a feature that allows synching across devices. Is an extension required for that with Dissenter? Any recommendations?

Been using Firefox so long I'm out of the loop on these other browsers.

Most extension that works on chrome should work on Dissenter. I use LastPass which installed and it working property.

Your phone listened. No I’m not joking.

Not a feature I really use. When I set it up, it did import all of my Firefox settings. I'm sure there is an extension that would work, as mentioned previously.

I use Brave since they have an app. I'll give the Duck Duck Go app a try as well. Brave has been great, but I have noticed certain websites don't like it. They are few and far between, but some are out there.

I believe this. More than once I have mentioned something specific to my wife - not over the phone, but just talking with the phone in the room - and a "recommended" Youtube video shows up on that subject. Change my mind!

"palemoon" is a good fork of an older firefox version. They forked from before firefox started going "feature" crazy and have been mostly doing security patches.

+1 for duckduckgo

I just typed in duckduckgo in the address line and hit go and once there I added it to my favorites. When I need to search I just hit favorites and select ddg and search that way. No app for me.

Realized I dropped a bomb without a solution.

Dissenter is a good browser. Here is their webstore to give you an idea of their leanings.
You can import all of your bookmarks, passwords, and other settings from your old commie browsers

FYI @premise , I'm not necessarily asking you, just did a searach for "dissenter" to post a question and tagged your comment...

So, I've been using Dissenter browser a lot for a few months, and it's generally been fine. Recently, though, I noticed it's no longer blocking youtoob ads.

I used to see a blank screen with a "problem" message during ads, then the video I was after would load & play normally. Now, full-on ad Monty; no escape.

I've searched my settings (no recent changes), and poked around in Dissenter's, but haven't found a method to turn that ad blocking feature back on. Any leads, or did the Toob just find a work-around and we're waiting for Dissenter to catch up?

Wife and I did that, every day for a week we talked about goats, breeding, milking, eating and what not and sure nuff it shows up as an ad in her FkBook feed

In another thread, I described how I said McDonald's should offer us something for how much business we with them and the next day, they did.
