Dumpster Finds (Another Man’s Trash)

This thread points out what a wasteful society we have become. I work at a distribution center and it amazes me what I see thrown away almost daily. Returns from stores, displays no longer used, beds, mattresses, desk, chairs, mannequins, washers, dryers, fridges, mixers, microwaves, the list goes on and on.
I asked to buy some of the stuff such as some of the plexiglass from displays and some lumber so I could make new snake enclosures, thats a NO. Well why not donate it? Not going to happen, someone could get injured on what we donate and then sue. ??????

Throw everything away. There are no consequences for bringing frivolous lawsuits. Like the McDonald's coffee. It's hot. No shit. If it wasn't, you'd be complaining about it. Maybe sue because it wasn't hot enough to kill some bacteria and you got sick because you have a crappy immune system from eating there.

Throw away the beds and the clothes when there's people on the streets with nothing. It's a sin

In part due to an over litigious system. Its always someone else's fault for doing a right and noble thing to those in need.

Fined for feeding homeless.
Sued for Donating needed items.
Attacked for differing opinions.
Persecuted for fighting back.

Yeah it makes me sick. I have a friend that manages 2 Chick-fil-As in Winston. They just remodel both of them and removed the play place stuff. We support a few kids camps in other countries and asked about donating them. He said they were not allowed to. ALL the tables chairs and the play sets had to be disassembled and thrown away. What a waste. Has to be a liberal rule. I mean let someone sign a paper that saying I will not sue if something happens or something like that.

My mom also works at a local elementary school and she says it is unbelievable the amount of food they throw away at the end of the day, every day. She has asked for them to box some food up for her to take home and they said that they would have to charge her for it if I did, she said no thanks and then they dump it in the trash. I mean really? No wonder America is going to pot. We’re too worried about getting sued instead of doing the right thing.
