Electric Dirt Bike vs 4 Strokes

Yep, those Stark VARG bikes are a beast. They have 2 different models, one with 60 hp, the other with 80. And get this, they have 938 nm"s of torque, and that converted to Lb. Ft. of torque is a shoulder dislocating 692 (691.83 if you want to be picky, lol). Complete craziness.

I had no idea about the torque. I can see where that would stretch your arms out a bit.

As I understand it these bikes have a controller that allows the rider to select the power range and delivery. I watched a video where a pro level rider stated the max power setting was too much and he feared he would get hurt.

Honda has one they plan to race soon as well. I'd love to see Jett Lawrence on it!

I saw a race video probably 2yr ago when they tried a couple e-bikes in a low-level 4-stroke race. It was impressive what those bikes can do, but not surprising based on how common it is to see a Tesla destroy a Lambo.

I’m sure they’ll have an electric class before long.

Good lord hope not,, it would be like watching an electric car race.. Half the show is the noise, the smell of unburnt hydrocarbons in the air, Ar Ar Ar growl. This is where I beat my chest in a manly manner.

As long as it’s not being forced on us, I’m fine with it. Then we have options. But I know some people have to have the sound and smell (bring back 2 strokes!), so electric will never appeal to them.

It’s like my coworker who refuses to buy a turbo vehicle even if it’s faster than the older N/A version, he has to have that N/A sound.

I love ICU's like the next guy. Grew up on 2 strokes etc.
But also grew up seeing every outdoor riding area closed because of noise, spark fires, etc.

Electric and quiet off road bikes are awesome to me. I'd rather have a near silent trail bike than a loud one. Give me a stout mountain bike with lots of motor. 100% torque everywhere.
Hard to hate it for certain applications.

You do have a good point there.

I’ve always believed that electric motors have a place in this world. Just not in a daily driver.

The torque to weight ration in a 2 wheeled vehicle makes them insane. Especially over short distances like racing.

Even in 4 wheel vehicles the sports cars are amazing. Using the batteries to lower the center of gravity to extremes and the overall torque output is incredible.
